The location of Pan Thai was across the beach in La Jolla and down the hill from all the restaurants and shops. Also a short drive from Torrey Pines as well as Pacific and mission beaches.

Here’s the thing: we had three incidents with homeless. The First was waking up and finding a transient, obviously under the influence laying on our front patio couch. The manager quickly got him to leave. Later, this same person was seen standing in the street in front of our room, smoking a cigarette and staring through our window. The next night, the transient took two of the cushions from the patio furniture and went next-door took one or more other cushions and disappeared down to the beach. We alerted management again. If that had not happened, we would have given the top rating.

The lady at the front desk was super nice whenever we were checking in. We wanted to be close to downtown but not pay a fortune so this is the closest one.

The location was decent however it is on a one-way so when you’re coming in from downtown, you have to make a U-turn to get on the opposite side of the road to get to the hotel Would be nice if there was a middle lane but that’s not the properties fault. I understand that they are renovating this hotel. We stayed on the first floor, and the second we went around the corner. It’s a very, very strong smell of urine to the point where I actually plugged my nose every time I went out to the hall, but when we got to the room, it did not smell like that . It was simply just in that hallway. There was also missing tiles from the ceiling in the hall. there was water damage and the pool was completely filled with mattresses in my opinion. If you’re renovating that is something that maybe you would want to hide maybe put something over the window and doors so that your guest don’t see that you have 100+ mattresses stacked up in a swimming pool

The only issues we had, very minor, were the safe did not work and our unit was on the 3rd floor and there were no elevators. Minor issues that didn’t hurt our stay at all.

The pool. They need to renovate the pool and the picture they have on the website about the pool is fake that’s not how the pool looks. And I was disappointed because my kids would have enjoyed the pool that’s listed not the one we got.

Dirty bathroom! Shower stall moldy, towels dingy(questionable cleanliness) and toilet dirty. No mattress pad (thin sheet right on top of mattress) and pillows were like bricks. The AC worked but boy was it noisy (ear plugs didn’t help).

The fact it was not told you either pay $24 a day for valet parking or move your car every two hours out front so that it doesn’t get towed between the hours of nine am and eight pm.
