The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Honestly been one of my favorite hotels since I was a kid. Everything went smooth check in check out the complimentary cookies when you check in the room was nice and clean even had our last name on the TV the breakfast was good no mean workers I would definitely stay again I didn't get to use the pool but it was warm and clean we didn't travel with our dog this time but good to know they allow it there was multiple dogs we seen which is a plus for us.

  My one and only complaint is the beds are stiff for my liking They used to be more comfy I'm still in my 20s so I feel like if it's stiff for me it's probably not the best for everyone else either our backs did hurt when we got up the next morning.

  Great staff) owner, very friendly and helpful. The inn is in a perfect location, very quiet and off the main roads. Everything was super clean and there is a nice seating area outside to relax and read/talk. Best place in Newcastle.

  Stayed here years ago, then stopped. This year, figured I'd give it another shot. Was very surprised to see it remodeled ! Soooo good! Rooms were clean, new beds and mattress, staff very accommodating. Reccommend staying here.

  Some furniture slightly worn, location may have some noisy late night folks on the street (not the properties fault but a note about the location). The preparatory email for check in came a day early, which was a little confusing and when I tried to use it the day of check-in it had expired and when I tried to get a new link it didn’t work. Could be me, but it was confusing. Nonetheless, it all worked out in the end.
