The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  I don’t have much to say that could be categorized as positive. It’s an older property that is need of upgrades and updating. Nice location but a poor value for the price.

  First off I don’t like hidden fees. Just tell me the price and when we agree I’m good to go. The desk clerk told us there would be a per day charge, $35 for parking and $35 for amenities. The fee for parking I don’t understand when I’m paying $500 per night for the room. The amenities fee was ridiculous and summed up to 2 cans of water and a very inconsistent WIFI service. As a handicapped person I am incapable of taking advantage of anything else on the property. The room itself was equivalent of a 20 year old Best Western. The room was very plain and uninviting with a tiny bathroom and a commode that would be better suited for an elementary school. That along with a broken coffee maker, no luggage stand and a shower that appeared to be early rebath I really couldn’t equate $500 per night. Finally handicapped parking was at a bare minimum (I counted 4 spaces) and hard to access. The parking lot was jammed so it was difficult to assess if they were ADA compliant. They may have been compliant but again hard to assess when folks with no ISA license plates or placard are using the parking spots.

  Everything about the property was nice. The restaurant the casino and restaurant on site. It was all just convenient.

  They had shut the pool down due to a thunderstorm coming in, and it never got opened up the rest of the night. Not the motel's fault though.

  We did not have breakfast. The bed I slept on was comfortable and the facilities looked very clean.

  The sheets on one of the beds did not look fresh, they were quite wrinkled as if someone had slept on them. The air conditioning was too cold, even at the lowest setting. We stayed just one night and came in late only to sleep, we left early in the morning, so there isn't a lot I can comment on.
