The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The AC did not keep the room cool. The bathtub top rim was high, making it hard to be safe while getting out. I recommend an outer wall bar to grab onto for safety.

  Location on Business 24 in Morningside was good.

  The hallways did not look like they had been vaccuumed for a week. The room lighting was poor and we had to request a light to use the desk, and move a lamp over to the bed for reading purposes. The breakfast offering was terrible. basically consisting only of raisin bran or frosted flakes. The coffee was lukwarm and weak. The orange juice seemed stale. We have stayed at this place before and this year it seemed a slide downhill. The bathroom needs some work as well. The shower spray was way too powerful. The baseboards were coming off the wall. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel for two people, and we had to obtain another towel. No coffee service in the room. The closet was some hangers on the wall.

  To be the front desk clerk there was no pleasantries! She didn’t greet me looked like she didn’t want to assist. The rooms had really bad odors I switched to a different room it was the same my children and I had to purchase air fresheners the smell over power it. There was also a strong odor of Bm in the hall. Also when trying to have breakfast no waffle mix. The breakfast attendant had no pleasantries either and began breaking down while we were trying to get breakfast before breakfast was over very RUDE! Also my total was incorrect
