The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  I loved everything about the property! The decor was quirky and elegant mixed with comfort and convenience. The bed was extremely comfortable and felt luxurious. The staff was so welcoming and hospitable. The bar attendant (a lovely blonde lady) was so nice and made me an awesome pizza! There was also a the lady at the check in/out that hadn’t been there too long but she was an absolute gem! I was pleasantly surprised by this gorgeous little hotel and I would definitely stay here again!

  There really isn’t anything I didn’t like but if I had to say something negative it would have to be “the sauna” needs to be repaired.

  The breakfast and location were great. Everybody did a good job responding to all of the requests we had.

  The hot tub was luke warm and very cloudy. I used it once but was unsure if it was safe to use afterwards. I reserved a handicap room because I have a lot if physical issues. The pictures showed a walk in shower but we had a tub/shower combination which was challenging getting in and out. The exhaust fan worked very poorly. If you took a warm or hot shower the bathroom turned into a steam room. We dealt with this by taking cool showers. The morning we departed there was no cold water. Warm water came out of the cold faucet. The microwave location was too low for me to use as I couldn't get down low enough to read the dials.
