- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The hotel is close to the beach, amazing location and great value. We had a view of the beach with a small balcony. I loved being so close to the boardwalk and rental bicycles right across the street. The front desk staff were awesome. I loved the 24 hour coffee station that included decaf. Seemed like a safe location and had a free trolley stop right around the corner. We stayed 3 nights to explore Miami before a cruise and would absolutely stay again.

  The breakfast was lacking. So many breads/carbs and no real substance. Also, it's an older hotel. That seems to be where some of the negative comments are coming from but you can't blame a giraffe for having a long neck. If you want to stay in a swanky hotel, there are plenty around costing considerably more.

  All in all a great value for the cost. I stayed in a double Queen room, which looked like it had been remodeled recently. Everything was clean and the location was great. The receptionist was nice and let us check in a bit early.

  I found the bed to be too firm, didn't sleep well. My partner said he slept well though. So just a matter of personal taste.

  Hotel is nice but I would not categorize it as a 5 star hotel. It is a 4 star hotel. Staff is nice and helpful + the shuttle is convenient! Beach is great and I preferred the beach restaurant with the view (not hotel operated).

  Nothing was too bad. Maybe some effort to decorate the terrace/roof would be nice. Furniture up there are from Wayfair..

  The African American gentleman that checked us in was wonderful and very thorough. Everything else was fine except what I am going to write below....

  We were woken up several times throughout the night with very loud people in the hallway and doors slamming. The way the doors close is way too loud. We were staying just down the hall from the front desk, and I was surprised the front desk staff who worked that night did not shush them. This occurred on several occasions throughout the night.....
