The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  The location felt safe. Bed was comfortable. Good television set. Room was equipped with a microwave and small fridge. Friendly staff. There is a Bigfoot Coffee stand, gas station and convenience store withn walking distance from the motel.

  The room had a definite mildew (?) odor which was a bit offensive. The bathroom door couldn't be shut all the way. I didn't care for the $50 deposit which was added to my debit card, but it was removed on checkout as promised. Bring your own hair dryer, laundry bag, and alarm clock as none were provided. The motel is located near Interstate 5, so there is some road noise.

  The location is excellent, this part of Boston is beautiful and the streets and buildings are charming and well landscaped. I did see an apartment with open doors in the main building with hardwood floors that looked very nice.

  Unfortunately, I had bad luck and checked in on labor day weekend to a room that had a terrible smell- like vape smoke and nauseating musky cherry that had absorbed seemingly in to the old dank carpet. This was 19 Garrison # 731. I complained and couldn’t get another room because none were available. i was offered a can of febreeze by the front desk staff and instructed to open windows. Since its apartments , there is no “housekeeping” on call. I had plans so later got my own products and spent the late part of evening trying to remove the odor and had a terrible sleep and nasal irritation. It was a 3 story walk up- the carpets are old and dank. Otherwise it’s a nice structure.

  We enjoyed that the staff were approachable. We extended our stay and they made sure that we didn’t have issues. We also enjoyed that if we came down 10min before the kitchen closed, the breakfast would still be warm and there was plenty for the whole family.

  On Sunday night, we headed down to enjoy the pool but after being there for two minutes our eyes began to burn from the chlorine. We do understand that the concentration has to be high in order to keep it clean for all the travelers but it was an amenity we hoped to enjoy.
