- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly. Although valet seemed overworked. he was there at 10pm when I arrived and still there at 11am when I went out.

  Tub/whirlpool jets didn’t work. Room I was booked for was not available and I was placed in an upgraded suite - much nicer space and room but less beds so kids had to sleep in cots. It seems I was charged for the room difference too. (Not sure). Second day we went and asked if we had to move, go to assigned room- we’re told no stay if you are comfortable. We leave for the day. Leave a privacy please sign. Get back and key cards don’t work - have to go to front desk get new keys plus when we get to the room it had been cleaned and our things touched to clean (suitcase was on bed for example had been moved to make bed).

  Your staff is very polite and accommodating, thank you. The location was perfectly central to all of our needs.

  The hotel smelled musty and lacked AC in common areas, the shuttle only works if 2 staffers are on AND ends at 930p, did not help us going to our game. We ended up paying for parking. The hotel restaurant is expensive and the food wasn't great.

  I didn’t like the surprise fees they charged daily E channel fees. They charge me my birthday drink free that should’ve been 50% off. I also had a mini bar fee on my invoice and never touched the mini bar. It never was touched. It never was replenished nothing was ever done to the mini bar however I have a $40 fee for that. I contacted the manager of the facility named Warren. He he stated that he was gonna take the fees off now he’s giving me the runaround all of a sudden and has to call me back yesterday when he told me he was gonna take the fees out and send me an updated invoice/receipt to my email read the email off. I never received the email so I’m pissed. this will never happen at the four seasons.

  It was a convenient location with a restaurant with a nice view from the restaurant.

  The room was very old and in poor condition. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. Noise from machinery outside was very loud. We have stayed at the Topaz Lodge several times before and found it satisfactory but this room above the main casino was horrible and overpriced.
