The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

The refrigerator is spacious, very practical for longer stays. The TV works well and offers good entertainment options. The internet connection is reliable, perfect for work or streaming. The windows overlook a peaceful courtyard, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Good free car parking is available, which is very convenient.

  The uncovered trash cans near the elevator looked very untidy. The tabletop stove is very low-powered: you can only boil eggs or fry a small omelet, but not cook fish, potatoes, or more substantial meals. There is no proper exhaust hood above the stove; the fan just circulates the air, spreading cooking smells throughout the kitchen. The kitchen is not equipped with basic utensils (pots, pans, kettles, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc.)—you need to bring everything with you.

  Could not have been better! Friendly, efficient staff; clean, elegant surroundings; good breakfast options even including waffles and omelet. My daughter and I especially enjoyed the lounge with the charming bartender and intriguing offerings. We were able to truly relax, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere and fellow travelers. And the spa had nice facility with an excellent masseuse, Claire.
