- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Check in was a breeze, the room was clean and cozy with working amenities such as microwave, fridge, TV, the bathroom was well stocked minus body wash but outside of that no complaints. Breakfast was good, pool was warm and clean with towels provided. The staff were all really nice and the hotel was quiet. They allow pets which I thought was cool (even though we didn't bring ours) but you didn't smell or hear them. The location was wonderful, right off the interstate, walking distance to plenty of stores, restaurants and even a Walmart. We only live 25 minutes from this location but I wanted to rent a place with a pool for my kiddos and I to just get away for a night. We will be returning in the future.

  The only thing I would change would be adding body wash to the bathroom. There was only one bar of soap and you either had to use it at the sink for hand soap or in the shower for your body. It isn't so much a complaint as it would be a friendly suggestion for future guest.

  The view sitting outside is stunning, plenty of space to sit outdoors. A winery right next to the property was a bonus. The location is just perfect, close to so many wineries. Also, not too far from downtown to fine restaurants on King Street. Host Olga made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed what the Manor offers. Coffee, tea, fruits, and cookies are always available.

  Smelling fume, possibly from a neighbor behind the trees? It did not happen the entire time, but did at one side of the property, but not the main patio. It's truly lovely there at the main patio.

  The bathroom looked like it had a quick wipe down, not actually clean. An old bar of soap was still in shower. The TV is put in a place that’s not really useable. I’m not sure how anyone would use it. The breakfast area is too small for how big hotel is. Also, not enough workers so we had to wait for one employee to try and keep up with restock of foods and working the front desk. When we checked in the room we booked was not available. We were offered the upgraded suite room but had to pay the difference….that was very upsetting. Also, nobody working the desk at check out. Had to drop keys and leave after waiting for about 10 minutes. Never received final invoice.

  The check in area smelled like shrimp. Both when I checked in and checked out. It was terrible. The room had roaches. The shower still had hair in the tub. And there were dents and scratches all over the bathroom that they either repainted or put clear tape over.

  Service for getting the room cleaned was overly burdensome and they made us feel like they were doing us a big favor for cleaning the room once during a six night stay. Cleaning staff was overtly inconsiderate and hotel management was unconcerned. We also lost the use of the room for the entire day while they worked us into their busy schedule.
