- “So welcoming and comfortable from the minute you enter. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although on the small side was really comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower was great and the supplies toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfy, and there was a hanging rail for clothes and a hairdryer. The USB charging points by the bed were useful too. The bar / breakfast room is great, the brewery themed decor was really well done. Speaking of the breakfast, it was on par if not better than some I've had in 4 or 5 star hotels. The scrambled eggs were THE BEST I've seen on a buffet - light and fluffy unlike the tasteless, watery offering you often get! The staff at breakfast are so accommodating and helpful, and extremely on the ball with clearing tables. The location is good, the road at the front is busy but we couldn't hear anything from our room. The train station and city centre are a 10-15 minute walk away, I'm sure there are buses but we didn't bother. We had travelled by train and arrived hours before check in time and asked to pop our bags in their secure luggage room, but to our surprise were told our room was ready so we were able to freshen up before heading off to explore. We've stayed in York multiple times over the last 8 years, at least once a year and this is by far my favourite place that we have stayed in. I have paid much more to stay in far inferior hotels! (But please don't put the prices up, we want to come back ;-))”

  Fantastic views, access to dock, balconies, great pool with a lovely temperature. The hot tub was essential and very nice. All right on the river. The restaurant was fantastic! We paid at booking to add breakfast and it was amazing. Full menu and cooked to order. The breakfast burritos, waffles, poached eggs, and omelets were all really top notch. And we chose to eat dinner there both nights as well! The French dip, Mediterranean salad, salmon, caprese and fries were all very delicious! The lemon water in the lobby was an extra nice touch. We really appreciated it. The place feels very welcoming and we would definitely stay here again. Also convenient access to target for any essentials. The staff was extremely attentive. If we needed anything at all, they came immediately! Best service we have had in a decade at hotels! Well done.

  My room was nice but it was still dirty. The coffee pot was dirty, microwave had spilled food on the tray, the refrigerator had soda on the glass trays, the toilet was used so much the paint is stripped off the flush handle. The breakfast selection was lack luster no hot food. Ex. Eggs bacon sasuage. Had 2 bagel types and English muffin 2 types of cereal and coffee and OJ to drink. No choclate milk juice etc.

  Didn't see another human being during our entire stay as you have no front desk staff. “Check in” was overly complicated and frustrating. Furniture and bed were sone of the least comfortable I’ve ever had the displeasure of attempting to rest on. For the amount of money we shelled out, I was extremely disappointed in the value. Completely impersonal and uncomfortable.
