We were trapped in the hotel due to emergency weather conditions and girl at the reception couldn't explain in English what is going on and when we can leave the hotel. It was snowing outside and INSIDE our room too! In the bathroom snow was blowing from the vent, in the room from the window (picture attached). Even though inside wasn't cold. Shower pressure is not high enough and water temperature all the time jumps from too hot to too cold. Staff at the breakfast was very rude. Hotel wasn't renovated for at least 20-30 years, so don't expect much.

Breakfast was OK but expect cold eggs and cold sausages. Everything but coffee is cold. But coffee is not bad :) Good for a one night stay. The cheapest in the area.

The walls seem to made of cardboard. You hear every footstep and voice on the entire floor. The water pipes start banging around 2.00 am. No UK adapter for plugs. No bath mat to stand on. Hot breakfast is cold and supper cold. Noisy banging of cutlery/clearing while you eat. Dark dingy lounge to sit in. For all other travelers going to Pic Maia without knowing Andorra, be aware that there is only ONE taxi in Andorra. We arrived Friday evening around 18.30. Cold and snowing. Look for a taxi, no one there. Go to info, they check and say the taxi is in Toulouse and will be back in Andorra to collect us by 2.00am!!! We had traveled since 18.00 the day before. Our hotel is 2.km's straight up the mountain. Tried finding our ski hire shop in order to collect skies and see if they could drive us up with our equipment. Closed. A lady in an office called Pic Maia, reception could not speak very much English and said they could not help. So there we stuck in town with 2 large suitcases and no where to go. Luckily we chose a hotel close by to go in and see if they had a room for the night. The receptionist said he had a car and would take us up. What a relief. It is absolutely crazy to have 1 taxi in a town so large. So basically the well priced hotel is negated by the fact that you have to spend 40 euros a ride in the one taxi to get anywhere. As a result we never saw much of the town at all and no duty free shipping was experienced. Pity!

Travelling from South Africa, nothing in Europe is well priced! So based on heresay, this hotel is well priced for Andorra. The glass lift had the best view of the slopes.

Some food was only luke warm and already starting to dry out at beginning of dinner. Lack of parking, undercover parking to expensive. Curtains did not cover one of the widows in room properly.

Didn’t realise it was so far away from Pas De La Casa which isn’t the hotels fault obviously. If you’re wanting to spend nights out in bars etc it’s a very long 4K walk or expensive taxi.

Great value for money, good food as well. Great location for skiing, can ski in and out of the hotel.

Almost all the floors are tiled which means that it can be noisy at night when lots of people are arriving. Walls are thin, so you might become quite well acquainted with your neighbours and their nocturnal bathroom habits! Probably not a good base to ski with young/novice/nervous skiers.

This hotel sits at 2400 metres, above the town of Pas de la Casa. There are no buses and few taxis, so a car is essential, and be prepared to dig your car out of the snow and to fit chains/socks if the weather comes in. We use the hotel as a base to ski, and it is excellent for this: you can keep your ski equipment in the hotel, and can walk across the road outside onto a blue/red piste down into Pas de la Casa where the main lifts start. It is also possible to ski back to the same point from the top of one of the main lifts. The hotel is practical but not smart: don't expect luxury! The rooms are very warm, but it is easy to leave the windows slightly ajar. There is masses of hot water, so showers/baths are great. The cleaning staff are charming and efficient, and the rooms are cleaned and beds made up daily. The food is good, both at breakfast and in the evening. There is a substantial buffet for each meal with plenty of variety, and an interesting choice of meat, fish, and vegetable/salad dishes. WiFi is free but temperamental; the bar is cheap and as lively as you choose to make it. There is a sitting area which is large and comfortable but without any atmosphere. There is a pool table but nothing else.

The lava hot pipes going through our room meaning that while it was -4 outside it was 56 and dry as a nun's tumble dryer inside. The heat troubled me further when attempting a bowel movement. Jugui! That radiator burns those knees. Wide selection of tinned overcooked food. The miserable manager.

Hotel is way too far away from everything. About an hours walk from hotel to all the stores and bars. Asked for a room with a double bed but our room had 5 singles beds and 1 tiny window. Also, only one power outlet and it was next to the front door. We didn't end up staying the night and the man at reception said "what did you expect? We are 2 stars".

Lying to encourage us to come : no problem if you don't have a car it is easy to take a taxi. The reality : there is no taxi available, so you have to come and / or start walking 1-2 hours (up or down). Almost no phonic isolation, so sleeping is an option, depending on the people nearby.

The location of the hotel is excellent if one is interested...
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple

Very very slow staff at the reception (with very limited language skills). The restaurant and bar staff were very nice though. Careful, if you can't sleep with strong light, there is a gas station right in front of the hotel plus the light from the slopes, that might disturb you, as there are no curtains nor blinds on the windows. No hairdryer in the room, not even a possibility to borrow it from the receptipn-not very pleasant in winter. The food was not of very good quality, but the choice was decent.

The location of the hotel is excellent if one is interested in ski in/out, but a bit far from the town, so no car=no (social) life... A typical mountain chalet, very modest but sufficient for its purpose.
