Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainAlthough the toilet was clean the refurbishing looked a little mismatched, mixing old facilities with new ones. For example the shower faucets were new but the bath tub looked dated. I enjoyed being in Bur Dubai, which is the traditional part of the city, but if you are looking for fancy skyscrappers, it's better you look in Dubai Marina or elsewhere.
Great location, at walking distance from Al Ghubaiba bus station. There is also a bus stop nearby or you can walk to Sharaf metro station. The room was very spacious, with a dining room tablewith four chairs. Wifi worked well. The mattress was very comfortable.

AustraliaThere are only drawback that I want to bring to attention: 1) Not enough Lighting in the room - Lighting can be improved 2) Breakfast - Breakfast is a bit expensive compared to the other restaurants near by.
Gateway Hotel is located in Old Dubai. Fairly close to Gold and spice souk. We liked our stay as it is was definately value for money. I would recommend this place for big families who are keen on visiting Dubai as a tourist

United KingdomSome guests can be noisy late at night but that’s nothing against the hotel.
Gateway review March 2-12 We now consider ourselves to be regulars at this hotel. Having stayed in many of the high end hotels like Versace, Atlantis the Palm, Waldorf and Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, this is our favourite for many reasons. Friendly staff, ultra clean, good food, central area for transport and shopping. Great rooftop pool. Abu from Delhi on Security, Umam from Peshawar and John from Kenya and the others at the front entrance are all so helpful and friendly. Great for a chat and so kind. Reception staff are also excellent , Prakash and others order our food deliveries from the local restaurants.👍🏽. Dippin the manager is such a kind professional guy from Kerala who runs a great team, he kindly ensures I get a fabulous room to accommodate my mobility issue, many many thanks kind sir. In the pool it is Rishi who takes great care of us, a lovely young guy from Sri Lanka. The restaurant staff are exemplary and genuine. Kyoto is so sweet and very knowledgeable for one so young. Ahmed and Khalid from Egypt are so kind and good mannered. They all make breakfast a delight. Minuka is a little treasure and all the staff are but I don’t know all the names yet. As I’ve previously said don’t be looking for balconies or views as there are none. It ticks all the boxes and makes a very pleasant stay. See you all next month Inshallah.

FranceNothing special except stay a bit longer !!!
The hotel is in compliance with the description, a "good value for money". It's well-located, 5 minutes walk from a metro station (sharaf DG), full of restaurant around, market for shopping nearby, Museum,... But most of all, the hotel is very clean, the room I booked was spacious and all the staff is very helpful: Special thanks to "Jioty", a very kind lady always takes care of your well-being.

AustraliaGuests were asked to show their identity before visiting the rooms and had to have their licence or emirates id or passports scanned. This was very dicey and shady on the hotels part. Guests were also told that if they stayed for more than an hour they would be charged a one day rate. Very unprofessional on the hotels part. This was brought to the notice of the manager Dipen who informed his staff that guest would not be charged a days rate if they stayed for more than an hour in the room. Guest were also not allowed to use the hotels parking to park their vehicles. The pool also opened from 9am to 6pm only compared to other hotels which opened their pools till 8pm.
Very central to all amenities. Very close to a lot of restaurants and shopping location. Good gym. Friendly staff. Our room cleaner Saugat was very good. He cleant the room very well and restocked it with water everyday.
