Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a family hotel - probably not the correct place for couples. It’s our second time here and we’ve realised that it’s a place for families with young children. We have not against children but it can feel overrun with bucket & spades on the beach or the breakfast room is a little crèche like. Some aspects of the hotel are now feeling a little tiered and could do with an update to maintain its 5* rating, alongside some of the more recent Dubai hotels. Bedrooms feel a little out dated - only one viable charging socket away from the bed, no real vanity mirror in the room other than the one that folds up from the desk, tiered soft furnishings. The bathrooms however remain top notch and don’t need an upgrade. The breakfast room is the other area that I’d focus on an upgrade and more modern breakfast foods should be made available - avocado, smoothies etc.
Architecturally the hotel is beautiful. It has an exotic resort vibe which for us is a lot better than some of the modern high rise style hotels in Dubai. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. The Laguna beach bar is amazing - but it should be made clearer that adults can use the cabanas during their stay.

TurkeyShould have designated areas for adults at the beach, restaurants etc. There were too many children, couples need quiet areas! There are no power plugs at the bed sides, not enough plugs around the desk area. Furnitures in the room were worn down. Sofitel brand quality beds/pillows which are used internationally were not present. The bed and pillows were not comfortable as we used to see in other Sofitel hotels.

United KingdomI thought F & B was expensive, even for Dubai. A 330ml bottle of beer at around £14 rather curtailed any desire for a couple of rounds of drinks! When we checked-in (at a special premier check-in) the annoyingly over-enthusiastic check-in clerk tried to sell us a confusing meal package which was obviously designed to keep us on site. Whilst this might work for some, we had plans to be out with our son who works in Dubai, so we had to decline this quite firmly before we were 'allowed' to go! Had we just just come off a plane from another time-zone we might have succumbed though confusion; as we had just come in from a road trip from Oman we were not suffering from jet lag so were perhaps a disappointment to the agent. After our first drink at the Laguna Beach bar I signed for drinks. Bearing in mind the cost of the drink and that an 8% 'service charge' is automatically added I did not add a separate tip - and was pointedly asked 'how was the service' (not outstanding actually as I had to chase around to get the bill).
A massive resort hotel geared up for families who just want sun and sand and access to the Atlantis Aqua Park a few minutes walk away. Staff were always friendly and helpful and keen to please. We were in a 'club' type room with access to a 'premier room' for breakfast, with afternoon tea and evening drinks (which we never managed to go-to as we had other evening arrangements each night). Breakfast was a good buffet with coffee, cooked breakfast offered at the table. The afternoon tea, from 2pm, was good enough and after a decent breakfast was a fair substitute for an over-priced lunch at one of the many on-site themed eateries. Annoyingly a beer at lunchtime was chargeable but free in the evening - I suppose this is to protect their revenue stream. However, to be fair, they did not object when my (locally resident) son & g/f joined us for breakfast. The hotel is right on its own private beach so we didn't need to use the packed pool (it was UK half term week) and there were no shortage of sun loungers of towels. Just be aware that the hotel is right at the outside end of the Palm and that to get anywhere from it is at least 25 - 30 minutes; however taxis are one of the few things in Dubai that are reasonably priced. Also be aware that at certain times of the day, notably from about 4pm, taxis are in quite short supply at the top end of the Palm and we had to wait for 20 - 30 minutes eventually giving up on one occasion and ended up taking a private hire car which was one of several 'just waiting' at the hotel. More expensive than a local taxi (but actually not absurdly so). A nice hotel if a themed resort is what you want - I think I'd rather stay again at the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach as it's a bit cheaper but also closer to the main part of Dubai.

United Kingdomafter specifically being told to collect our 6 year old from the kids club at an agreed time he was found wandering the pool area trying to find us. no induction or details taken for the outdoor activities which I find crazy. we offered to leave details with the kids club reception, they said it was not necessary. the inclusive breakfast is not explained as premier lounge on booking.com. it is below par, busy, under catered. drinks take so long they arrive after the food. no explanation on the choice available like eggs prepared to order I don’t expect a budget hotel breakfast and experience when I pay for a suite in a hotel like this the main breakfast which was at a cost was superb. Sun loungers always occupied and left empty. no one monitoring this.

EstoniaI`ve been to many fine dining restaurants in the world, including Michelin star restaurants. The Laguna restaurant`s pricelist definitiely does not meet the quality and is very much overpriced! We took Octopus from the grill and it was totally overcooked. The prices for the drinks are really ridiculous - 4cl of Angostura rum costs 40 EUR for example. Glas of an average level Champagne 50 EUR... Haven`t seen it anywhere.... Pity!
Excellent location and views. The hotel facilities and room were perfect - very cousy, clean and we got an upgrade on our arrival, which was above expectations! The pool was very nice and the cleaning staff very friendly.
