Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe drive to the hotel is on a bit difficult to drive road, and walk to center is a bit far. Also toilet and shower are all together so everything gets wet when taking a shower, just good to know for the ones not used to this, apartently it is quite normal in Albania
The hotel is right next to the mountains, with a beautiful landscape, food is all made with what they grow themselves, staff is suuuper nice, they really made even better our stay!

IsraelThe location of the guesthouse was a little further away from the central area (20-30 minute walk away) but it was an easy and pleasurable walk! Also good location for people who want to do the theth-valbone hike as its really close to it.
The host was amazing- very nice, friendly and always willing to help! The room was sweet and cozy. The area was absolutely beautiful. The food was great and inexpensive!

Czech RepublicI wasn't too happy with the dinner, the beef was tough and the lamb was a bit fatty with lots of small bones. There were only 2 electrical outlets room, and 1 was burned out.
We rented a cozy little house. It was nice. The bed was comfortable, and there were blankets to cover ourselves with and keep warm, as it got cold at night. There was a beautiful lawn in front of the houses.

United KingdomI loved every single thing about this place. The staff is friendly, Andrea and family are welcoming , warm and helpful. The structure is very new, and it surely requires some amelioration here and there, but these are minor things compared to the overall experience. Do not, please, expect a place for lazy, posh, spoiled tourism. It is a mountain place for people who love a more genuine type of travelling. So, enjoy the atmosphere, all the small details will simply not matter.

Really friendly host, one of us was unwell for the time we were there and the host was really supportive and offered cups of tea and juice through the day. Great breakfast!

IsraelThe room was quite small, and sometimes there was a smell of cooked food, as the rooms are located above the kitchen. However, the advantages definitely outweigh these small inconveniences.
The staff were wonderful and very kind to us. The place is close to nature – with cows, chickens, and sheep. The view was very beautiful.

BelgiumThe entire bathroom gets wet when you shower, but there are slippers and a bath rug.
Very friendly people. A small walk from the centre of Theth, but because of that it was very quiet. We asked for our breakfast as a package and they initially forgot but immediately started on it and got them ready really fast.

New ZealandThe only thing is the shower makes the whole bathroom wet but we were expecting this having read the reviews in the past and it was manageable! Also the walls are very thin we could hear our neighbour snoring haha but it was no worries.
The location! It was beautiful and only a 20-30 minute walk to the village and closer to the start of the Theth-Valbona hike! The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were amazing too :)

Romania- the road from the entrance to Theth to the accommodation is very bad, unpaved, cobblestoned, be careful what type of car you come with - the prices at the restaurant are a bit high
- very nice cottages, with comfortable beds, equipped with everything we needed, with private bathroom - the view of the mountains is wonderful - parking available in the courtyard of the accommodation - it was a pleasure to sit with a beer in the courtyard of the accommodation while the night fell

AustraliaClean, comfy, great spot just off the POB track before entering into Theth town. A great way to integrate the mountains and town at the end of the POB trail. It’s a 25 min walk from the main town. Amazing local food, the menu is reasonable price with a great meat and cheese selection.

Czech RepublicWater was dripping from the sink and the water was all over the bathroom. But it wasn’t much of a problem, because we were most of the time outside. The owner was open to offer us a different cabin.
The place was really nice. The owners were polite and helpful. We really liked the breakfast and dinner. Absolutely worth of the money. The place is further away from the center of Theth, but o see that as a bonus. There was less tourists and the place was peaceful.

AustraliaIt's probably a 20 - 30 minute walk from the main town of Theth - not a problem for us at all, but keep it in mind if you need to walk in and get supplies as the guest house only does breakfast and dinner
Amazing spot, so picturesque and quiet, surrounded by the Alps. The staff were amazing, the food was tasty, and the room was comfortable and clean. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed ourselves! Only 1km from the end of the Valbonë to Theth hike as well which is very handy after a long day of walking.

United KingdomIt was all lovely.
If you want an authentic Albanian experience, this is definitely the place to stay. Family run, incredibly friendly, a small holding, home produced food, very comfortable cabins, idyllic location just above the river (walk there in a few minutes to see fireflies at dusk, or sunbathe and cool off during the day). Some reviews mention the road up from Theth, but it is totally fine for even a small hire car. We walked from there up to the Valbone Pass and back, and also had a gorgeous 9km walk along the river to the Blue Eye (packed brunch provided by the family). So relaxing to just be there with superb views of the mountains. Cannot recommend more highly. Stayed for four days and wish we could have stayed longer.
