How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewWe booked a room for 2 almost as an afterthought. And yet, we came to find a huge room with very new furniture, A/C, a full kitchen and bathroom, and a very comfortable double bed. There’s also private parking, but be mindful to tick the box to request it (there’s no additional charge, but you need to ask for it). The hostess was very nice, and she didn’t mind us checking out before 7 am to catch our ferry to Corfu the next morning. We’re definitely staying here again if we revisit Sarandë.
Thank you very much for the review. We were very embarrassed because we had to change rooms due to an overlap. Pol you made our worries easier, having a good and friendly character. In the end we were very happy to meet very nice people. We welcome you again; I wish you the best!

Verified reviewThe yard is pretty cool and it is full of fruits trees, such as grape vines, prune trees, fig trees, persimmon trees lime trees and other trees. Some of them are ripe already and the hostess is really nice. We were late for a few hours and they wait for us till half past 11 at night. The place is cozy and classical decorated. In the morning, we have got Turkish coffee and cookies to enjoy. Anyway, thank you for the hospitality reception. If I have chance I am definitely gonna come and visit again. By the way the figs tasted great!!! Cute cats too~🇨🇳强烈推荐👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱❤️Mona

Verified reviewNice country house
Should be explained better that it is an integrated room as part of the families house so people know what to expect. There was no shower gel or body wash.
Thank you! The room is well described. It is part of the Guesthouse. A guesthouse is any unit that is used for tourism, but whose owners live there. Of course the room is private, separated from other public spaces. Thank you. Best regards

Verified reviewThey helped us so much - collected us from the main road and gave us lifts into town. Also gave us a free breakfast and were so helpful, making our stay much easier. I highly recommend them
It is a bit far out of town, but there are mini buses that you can take from town to the Berber Joli, and from there it’s about a 15 to 20 minute walk.
It was a pleasure. calm and polite people

Verified reviewVery clean and cozy house, with good people running it. We got a room with a kitchen, very useful for cooking, very strong blinds that allowed us to get good sleep. Location is easy to reach by car, far from the beach, but we knew that already. Would only get it if you have a car. There is some parking space around it, we had a huge rain while we stayed, but the road is inclined so neither our car nor anything else did not get damaged. Overall, fully recommended, would visit again!
Place was excellent, nothing to complain about. If anything, you really need a car to get around sarande, but that's not a problem with the location, but something to take into account. Also, in Sarande, you have to always take into account that streets are steep and narrow, coming from Romania that's something different, but the location is perfect, just something to remember as a first time visitor to Albania.
Thank you very much. We really appreciate your comment. You both were also very kind and loving to us. We were very pleased to have you in our guest house!

Verified reviewQuiet, clean and spacious room. All facilities offered worked. Kitchen has a microwave, which is rare. Host was very friendly. Location avoids the busy and often congested town.
Nothing. Just for others to note. The parking in front of the building is limited to 2 small cars. Other parking is located further up the hill.
Thank you!

Verified reviewI had a fantastic stay at Mona’s Guesthouse and would give it a five-star rating without hesitation. The hostel exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere. Knowing that I was traveling by bus, they reached out to me directly and kindly offered to pick me up at the bus stop. They also provided a complimentary ride to downtown every morning, which was incredibly convenient. The host’s daughter was exceptionally helpful, providing us with all the necessary information for our stay. Even after checking out, the host went above and beyond by assisting me with checking the bus schedule from Kasamil back to Sarandë. The room was beautifully styled, comfortable, and quiet. A lovely touch was the dried rose in the kettle, giving the water a pleasant aroma. The morning Turkish coffee and cookies were absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend Mona’s Guesthouse to anyone visiting the area.
The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, which adds to its charm and tranquility. However, having a car or renting a scooter in town can make getting around more convenient.
Thanks my friend.😂 It was a pleasure for us to have you in our guesthouse. You showed great citizenship values. And we do our dearest work with your thanks and kind words.❤️ I wish to meet again. Respect, Ermal!🤗

Verified reviewEveryone there was really nice and the place felt cozy. Ermal helped us with a well-priced and in-shape rental car right away, so we could go for day-trips to Ksamil and Gjirokaster. Every morning we were offered some coffee and biscuits for a relaxing start of the day. As cat-lovers, one of the best things for us were three super-cuddly cats :)
A bit far from the beach, but perfect as a home-base for day-trips in Albanias south.
How wonderful you looked when you took care of the cats. Charming couple that makes you feel special from the first meeting. The pleasure of sharing time with you! We hug you!

Verified reviewClassic modern new accommodation with terrace seating without kitchen. The accommodation is almost on top of the hill with with a view of the hinterland. A short walk up to the top with the ruins of Forty Saints Monastery offered stunning sea views. A great restaurant is 100 metres away. The staff speaks English 👍
far out to sea and parking is on the street next to the door. Forget about parking car anywhere near the beach.
