Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room was basic but had all the important amenities. Space heater worked great, beds were comfortable, shower had hot water with good pressure. Like most visitors in El Chalten we spent our days hiking and this guesthouse was the perfect place to come back to in the evening.

Wifi wasn’t great but the restaurant next door, San Sebastián, has good wifi ☺️
Basic accommodation in a great location. Beds were comfy, room warm and clean. Friendly owners.

A couple of things, but Juan fixed them.
The M3 Casita was spacious and comfortable. Any issues we had were immediately addressed by Juan. It was well situated in town and close to all shopping, restaurants and trailheads.

Pillows too firm. No towels so bring your own.
Great price. Great location short and easy walk to bus station. One block from main street. Quiet, sheltered yard with grass and lawn chairs. Clean. Check-in was flawless. Heater and hot water work well. Max was very hospitable. I accidently shut off the pilot light for the heater and Max immediately and graciously lit it for us.

It is a quite dark room, the kettle was dirty and the pillows were super hard. It is quite pricey for what you actually get, but it was still the cheapest option in El Chalten that is shamefully expensive.
The room is decent to spend the night. It is spacious enough for two people. The cleanliness was quite okay. The heating was great! The host was nice and helpful!

We had a lot of flies around the room, not a major issue but a bit annoying! The room itself wasn’t particularly clean. Despite it being cheaper accommodation compared to other hotels in the area, it’s still a lot of money for what you get.
In Patagonian terms this place is good value for money. We had hot water from the shower and the location was close to the middle of the town. The host was very nice.

Bit ramshackle but did a job . Price is good for El Chalten which is generally quite expensive unless camping
Small fridge and kettle in the room were handy . Short walk from bus station . Owner quick to respond on booking.com and WhatsApp

Basic place that was clean and warm. the price in pesos was very good. I recommend it as an overnight stay and a base for trips to the mountains. the owner was very nice and helpful.

You can see the wear and tear of the room. Relatively high prices, but that's how it is in El Chalten

Juan is a very nice person. Everything was ready for our arrival. It is basic but the room is very cute, calm, clean and the bed is comfortable. Juan left us tea, coffee, hot water for breakfast. Is is well located in El Chalten. We would go again with no hesitation.

Could have used a good update. Hard to find. Had a very small sign on the street which was covered by grass. We think with a little work both outside and inside would really make this property shine.
Good location and quiet. Owner very hospitable and easy to work with. Rooms were clean, beds comfy. A good place to put your head down.

Very limited wifi, but again, this is an issue in the town in general due to remoteness, and we're not here to spend all day on the internet. So no big deal.
It's basic, but for the price that you are paying it's great. Our room was very clean and was nice and warm.
