Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Super location, friendly welcoming staff. The lady who greeted us on reception gave my son a new lip balm as he was struggling with chapped lips. So kind. The city Room was impressive, really fab interiors - excellent stay can’t wait to visit again.

The service at breakfast needs a little improvement but the food was excellent.

Please etch something into the glass door between the living area and bathroom. It was closed and I walked into it and suffered a bruised head. Seriously dangerous. A Porter would have been appreciated to help carry heavy suitcases up the stone staircase to the Maisonette.
Lovely hotel, quite original with the crazy artwork and age of the building. Superb location to explore the old town, castle and Christmas markets and also close to the bridges to new town ( which is still very old). We stayed in the Maisonette which was spacious. The kitchen/ dining room was a great place to enjoy an Illy coffee compliments of the hotel. Staff were quick to fix a few issues when we first arrived. Lovely restaurant and bar. Schnitzel was delicious as were the cocktails. Staff very accomodating finding a table on a busy night even though we hadn’t booked.

The soap, shampoo etc, attached to the wall. No tea and coffee machine in the room.
This is located in the centre of the old town so great for the Christmas markets. You can park in the local underground car park which is a short walk from the hotel.

A bit pricey but for the location was worth it.

Right in the centre of everything, the Christmas Fayres, the shops, the restaurants, easy to walk to the various places of the history of Salzberg. Clean, excellent food and the staff were exceptionally helpful, thoughtful and efficient.

Nothing to dislike about this place.
The hotel was in about the perfect place to get to everything that needed to be seen in Salzburg. The staff were friendly and helpful and everything about the room was near perfect for our needs.

Location was in the middle of town and walking distance to everything. Loved the history of the building. The room was perfect.

The location in the old part of town was fantastic. The breakfast was beautifully laid out and just as tasty. The room was large and comfortable. We made use to the complimentary bikes to explore along the river and the town, that was a great bonus. Every staff member that we dealt with gave exceptional service.

Being right in the tourist heart with the crowds. Personally prefer some solitude but great for the Salzburg festival.
Very well appointed and comfortable room. No complaints there. The location; if youre attending the festival, is fantastic. round the corner from the Mozart Haus and main hall.

Shower had a half door (like many European showers) so it was difficult to keep water from spraying out on the floor. Also shower floor was slippery and had no mat so we put a towel down on the shower floor.
Excellent location, great layout of room which maximized the space, very helpful staff, lovely hotel.

A lot people outside the hotel all the time. But it didn't bother me too much
Air con was great, considering the weather we had. Location is great. The morden arts displays in the hotel are very interesting. Location wise, you can't have it more close to all the attractions.

Everything was perfect
The room was very well appointed, spacious and the bathroom was nicer than most 5-star hotels. The location is perfect in old town, close to everything you want to see but not too noisy. Convenient parking across the street. The service though was what made the difference. We had a small issue and the front desk attendant quickly rectified it and went out of her way to ensure we were happy.
