Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsUncomfortable bed. Check in was a little difficult, I came during the time that somebody should have been there but they had already gone. I got in with other guests and phoned for directions to the key.
The location in the middle of town was very practical. Very nice that breakfast was included.

United States of AmericaNothing in particular. This is a basic B&B place in the great location and reasonably priced.
The pension is located in the pedestrian area, very close to all major attractions, including the Opera Festival. It is run by a very nice, accommodating couple. Great communication skills, answered all our questions despite the fact that we speak different languages.

BulgariaThe shower is OK, but the toilet (its position) is very inconvenient for use. It was very hot in the room, nevertheless the fan. The pillow was inconvenient, too.
The hotel is in the center of Bregenz, Walking distance to the train station (approx. 7-10 minutes) and to the Harbor of Bodensee (approx. 7-10 minutes). The breakfast was OK. The staff was very friendly. The room was on the top floor and its size is OK for single traveler. The wifi was OK.

LatviaLovely place with nice staff. Maybe the room was a bit chilly for October, but there were some additional blankets in the closet. Placement in the city is quite central and everything is nearby.

AustriaThe walls are thin and the neighbours, if loud, can easily be heard. I was really disappointed with the coffee at breakfast. I am sure that it would not be too tough to buy a more modern coffee maker. The bed was just okay. It's rather pricey for what it is, but it seems that Bregenz is generally quite expensive.
The place was as described. The breakfast was okay with enough food but I didn't like the coffee from an old style coffee maker. The room was small but adequate. I didn't have a bathroom in my room, but it wasn't too bad going to a shared bathroom. There was a sink in the room and that was good. The location is great. it was a good place to go if you're visiting with your bicycle.

SwitzerlandI do understand that Bregenz festival is a high season for hotels but price/quality ratio for 1 night at this hotel is ridiculous. Normally in Austria, even in Tirol, you would get a 4* hotel with a pool for that price.

United KingdomSaturday night can be noisy when you sleep.
In the Centre of Bregenz. The 24 hours parking about 700 metres away next to railway station. The host is very welcoming and friendly. No private toilets or bathroom though but in general the value for money and the convenience of the place is good .

AustriaThe manager informed me that the hotel has two shared bathrooms, thus one per four rooms. That was definitely an understatement, there were only two bathrooms for three floors. In one of the shower cabins, the doors could not be closed, due to some defect. The sink in our room leaked. The rubbish container in our room was tiny. There were no additional containers in the hotel, where one could deposit for example plastic bottles and other bulky stuff. Given the temperature outside was in excess of 30 degrees C, it did create a problem. However, the weirdest thing during our stay was a note in our room, which claimed that we were not allowed to shower between 10 pm & 6 am, and that we would be charged extra 10 Euros if the room contained too much rubbish. Thus the note warned, our rooms would be checked before our departure. I don't quite understand how a person bent on seeing his guests as potential delinquents could be in hospitality business anyway. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the house and no common room where one could have a coffee or tea. I would say calling the business bed & breakfast is a misnomer. I did not feel welcome in any way. The breakfast was fresh, but very basic and the amount of food limited. Even getting an egg was problematic.
The hotel is clean overall, so are the bathrooms & toilets. The location is excellent, one can reach all festival locations on foot within max 15 minutes. I could reach the manager on the phone to warn him that my train would be late and I received appropriate information. There the positive ends.
