We had a problem paying the bill. Payed through booking, AND payed at the property as well! Also, the late check-in, and early check out did not allow us a lot of time to enjoy the property with a one night stay.

Unique. Location, exceptional views! Facilities were beautiful, and the village was charming. Great food at a local restaurant, was delicious!

I have to complain of the reception staff and communication.Their booking extranet was attacked by a hacker and the hackers were sending virus where the customer was asked for the payment and they could steal your money.However luckily my bank found it and the bank blocked my card.I was contacting the hotel by phone for explaining the situation and for apology.And nothing.They did not suggest any solution,no apology,compansation,nothing.My both cards were blocked because of this hotel mistake and the did not tell me anything to apology. When we arrived,they did not tell me anything about the situation..It was a huge disappointment of the stay. I would never come back,because they do nor care about their guests.

Paradise! From the moment you walk under the beautiful archway through the medieval front door, you’re met with elegance and history around every corner. And the staff is fantastic! Can’t say enough about the warm welcome and the absolutely marvelous breakfast. Make sure you give yourself a full hour to enjoy this splendid breakfast spread (a buffet with champagne and fresh organic juice, artisan bread rolls from the famous local bakery, eggs and coffee prepared to your wish, and a lovely 2-tiered plate with meats, cheeses and all kinds of dips.) Needless to say, the food is incredible! And the rooms + views are second to none (we could look right out on the ruins where King Richard the Lionheart had been imprisoned). The chocolate and fruit welcome dish was also a beautiful touch. Thank you for the most wonderful and romantic stay (ended up being our engagement trip!). We will be back! :)

I didn't find any negative things.

Amazing hotel with great atmosphere. Everything was just wonderful. Lady at the reception was friendly and helpful. Staff in the restaurant was very kind, food was extraordinary and live music on Friday evening? What a nice surprise. Room and bathroom were like from the real castle. I was travelling with two kids and nothing was the problem, bed for the son, crib for the little one, they even got some nice presents. We didn't have time for swimming pool, but we will definitely try it next time.

Staff nice and helpful, but a little serious. Not sure if it was a language, or culture, issue. Did help us with dinner reservations and really liked the authentic German food at Alte Kloster Keller. Mostly helpful, but for a 5 star hotel there was no porter for our bags, and parking was a little tight when we arrived. Although our room very large, the AC unit was underpowered (but it is an old castle). Durnstein itself is very small, and very quiet after 9pm. Hotel bar basically closed, although staff said they would get whatever we requested, but really not much going on in the evening there.

Beautiful architecture, neat decor, and large rooms. Welcome glass of wine much appreciated. Easy to hike to the top and see the ruins, and nice promenade to walk or bike along the Danube. Nice indoor and outdoor pools, and fitness center seemed adequate although did not use. Afternoon complimentary tea is also offered. Great location to visit Melk for 1/2 day as well. Turndown service great as well. Breakfast had plenty of options.

The wellness area was pretty cold, the water could be warmer too. We wanted to get warmer by drinking tea but the water in the samovar was cold, too.

It's hard to say something negative about my stay, as I very much enjoyed it! One little thing is that a coffee machine in the room would be nice.

The front desk ladies were very welcoming and nice. It made a big difference in my appreciation of the hotel. Guys at the restaurants were also very helpful and service was great! Also, location is amazing. You can park in the private area of the hotel and walk in the old town very easily.

The whole end-to-end experience was perfect. The hotel was very responsive before and during our stay. Reception were lovely and check-in was very smooth. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a charming two-bedroom suite, overlooking the Danube! And complimentary refreshments in our room was a nice touch. Breakfasts were extensive, fresh and delicious. We had dinner in the restaurant and every course was spot on. And having the use of a pool, sauna and fitness room after a day out was ideal. All in all, utter bliss.

making two twin beds pretend to be a queen/king-size bed. in traditional Austrian style, there was a crack between the two mattresses, and no king-size cover sheet. A relais chateau should be able to accommodate such a request and not make the guests accommodate themselves to an old, outmoded tradition.

The first room that was offered to us is small and not fit the price for that hotel. we asked for upgrade and received a room with a balcony and also a bigger one. But we were asked to pay more money... The bad is old and passed away long time ago not comfortable at all The bath tube is not fit 2022 Old and not safe and not comfortable to use...

Quite appropriate for a „Schlosshotel“ Reception, overall layout and room in austrian tradition, avoiding the usual Kitsch. Spa/ Pool area excellent…but missing instruction for certain guests who don’t know to shower prior swimming… compliment to the kitchen …. Breakfast serving rather unorthodoxe…..one needs to get used to. Note: Don’t think booking.com represents you appropriately….!

No actual air conditioning in the rooms, despite claims to the contrary. Instead the rooms are ostensibly “cooled” by water pipes in the walls, but there is no programmable thermostat other than a knob with 3 options, and even in the coldest setting the room got stuffy and steamy after showers. Surprisingly, the bathroom had no shower—only a large tub with a spray nozzle that allowed only for sitting down bathing, and there were almost no toiletries provided other than wall-mounted squeeze tubes of combo shower gel and shampoo. Bathroom came with only one washcloth—we had to ask for a second. Dinner was nice but service was uneven.

Beautiful property in a stunning location. fantastic spa facilities-indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, infrared cabin. Beautiful common areas with antiques. Excellent restaurant with views over the Danube. Free on-site parking for guests.

The WiFi was slow and sketchy, the breakfast was on the poor side in variety, also coffee is not self service. The A/C was almost non-working, and there were no easily accisable electricity sockets, we had to move furnutirue around to use it.

The bath was amazing. The restaurant is great. There's an amazing view and the location is superb. Free parking is good.
