How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewWe had a great stay at this hotel. The facilities are excellent and the location is unbeatable, right on the beach. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices, and both the beachside restaurant and the in-house one served delicious food with a nice atmosphere.
The only disappointment was with the room view. I paid extra for a lake view, but our first-floor room had a large roof and huge pipe directly in front of us, blocking much of the scenery. It was technically a lake view, but not what I expected for the additional cost. If I had known about this obstruction, I wouldn’t have chosen that option.

Verified reviewThe location is amazing, the outdoors area is great and the spa area for rainy days is an extra plus!
The only feedback I have is that the menu hasn’t had the allergens in it and that I would have loved to have the names of certain things at the buffet for example the different kinds of cheese. Also a coffee machine/little tea area would have been great in the room for the price of the stay. Other than that everything was excellent!

Verified reviewI recently stayed at the hotel in Achensee and had an absolutely sensational experience. The facilities were top-notch, beautifully maintained, and offered everything one could need for a relaxing stay. What truly stood out, however, was the management team – their service was simply incredible. Every detail was handled with genuine care and professionalism, making the stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!
I wasn't too fond of the beach restaurant. The food was mediocre at best.

Verified reviewAbsolutely stunning hotel in location and design. Check in was smooth and front desk staff friendly and helpful, providing a sparkling welcome drink on arrival was lovely. We had connecting rooms facing the lake and it was an incredible view to wake up to. The pool on the lake was breathtaking and a lovely area to relax in when the sun is shining, even when it was cooler weather the pool was heated and was still able to be enjoyed. The indoor pools were also nice when it rained. Breakfast was a really good selection of options and the food was tasty. Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating with any requests.
Nothing major just 2 small points that were already brought to the hotels attention - We got a big splinter in the foot immediately walking barefoot on the wooden deck by the pool. Luckily it was us and not our children otherwise I would have felt more strongly about it. A solution for the decking around the pool needs to be looked at - even if it's having waterproof slippers available there to wear for the guests to prevent injuries. - We also suggested there should be an option on the menu by the pool for kids, even something simple like fries so you don't have to leave to eat and return.

Outside pool and spa have limited opening hours. Like other high-star hotels here, expect to have to sit and have a drink while they take ages to check you in and give you a tour. Not so good for those who want to arrive, leave things in the room and get outside. Am being picky though

Verified reviewLocation, view and surrounding, simply stunning. Excellent facility with almost all you need. At check in, they have great attention to details even for your parking card or reserving a dinner table for late arrivals. Staff and the majority of them are great, few needs to just smile, but I found everyone very respectful and work like they own the place. Staying for 4 nights, I could claim I saw many staff at different times.
The room should be equipped with kettle and iron. Such basic stuff should not be something you look for.

We came to rest, but at night until 2 am we couldn’t sleep because the music was blaring. I consider this disrespectful to those who came to this hotel. and if we add here a not very comfortable bed and a small pillow, then it was not possible to sleep at all that night.
