This hotel is exactly as I imagined a hotel in the lost Bad Gastein centrum. It is a great reminder of a bygone age of 19th century travel and it is wonderful because of it. High ceilings, wide corridors, big doors, grand staircase (ruined by a fire safety inspector), antlers and 19th century paintings everywhere. The staff were efficient and not impossing.

Location close to the waterfall and in the middle of city, but still good Ski Buses transportation ! And ! The true , realistic touch of history , but no chubby , good quality and some places in perfect condition . But not for those who seek perfect , white and modern atmosphere ...

Perhaps bar fridge in the room, for a little bed time snack....

I liked very much the style of hotel, traditional with very nice lounge. Room was quite big and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and staff very kind.

The walk up to the center is quite exhausting with luggage and everything, but the walk itself is quite short. But no complaints whatsoever.

I liked the overall vibe of the hotel the most. The whole hotel was furnished so beautifully, including the staircase and everything. The pool and spa area of the hotel was really nice as well, was nothing better than a sauna after skiing for a day. Would recommend to couples.

Strange that the lobby/reception closes from 12-3pm. The rooms are quite sparsely decorated, but not a big deal. Spa/sauna/pool area was small and a little dingy. For the price, I felt it was a little lack luster, but Bad Gastein is expensive no matter where you stay.

Great location, beautiful old building. Staff was helpful and it's clearly a family run business. Comfortable bedding and good views/big windows, although this probably depends which side of the building you're on.

I cannot think of anything. It's real value for money and so it was a pleasure to stay here.

The hotel staff were really great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The Reception staff were very accommodating and flexible. The waiters efficient and welcoming. One of the waitresses even checked if I wanted an umbrella to take out with me because it was raining!

I have not been abroad much, so this might be standard outside of Scandinavia. The beds where quite small and I'm only slightly above average at 185cm and my feet where at the end of the bed, so if you're above average in height, the beds will feel small. Only one small elevator.

Great to have a spa with a view of the mountain after a hard day of skiing. A lot of worth for the price. Would stay here again.

The Hotel offers you 50% Discount for parking lot, which is only 1-2 Minute from Hotel. 1 Minute walk to Ginger & Gin Bar. 2-3 Minutes Walk to Skibus Station or 12 Minutes walk to Skilifts. Evenings you can use Sauna and Swimming pool. You've got your towels forgotten? No Problem - you can use them without extra Charge. Very helpful ladies at the reception. Thank you. See you next time. P.s. from other guests I heard, that you can take your pets with you. Awesome.

Poor value for money: realistically this hotel is well past its heyday and for half the price would be a fascinating place to stay. The receptionist was very rude on several occasions. If you need to use a lift, be aware that you may be waiting a long time to access your room on each occasion. Dinner is not €12.50pp as quoted on Booking.com (as at Feb 2018) but €20pp.

As a previous reviewer said, Hotel Weismayr is very Grand Budapest Hotel. If it were a cheap hotel, it would be charming. Great sauna facilities, if you get in before the 5pm rush. Large rooms with lovely views and huge beds. The restaurant and cleaning staff are A+++.

The wi-fi very poor. Need to connect every single entry to the internet.

The hotel with a very nice and helpful personnell, located in a very centre of Bad Gastein. A bit old school but this also makes the feeling you are in the belle epoque place. Recommended!

It was a little dated - breakfast was ok - would have benefitted from fruit other than apples and oranges and a juice other than diluted orange. While staff were polite they weren’t overly accommodating

A charming fin de siecle hotel

    - No car park at the premises; there is a car park nearby, for an extra fee. - The reception is not 24/7, so if you are going to arrive outside of their working hours make sure you contact them before to arrange that. Basically, there is no one there at the evening / night. No bar, the restaurant closes early. - Creaky floors and doors - you can easily hear people walking on a corridor in the morning (or evening). - The place seems to be rather expensive as for what it offers; the rate I paid was quite all right, but I think it was a heavily discounted one.

+ Convenient location. + Sauna. A good one. There are also other facilities, but I have not used them. The swimming pool is nice, too. + Very kind and polite staff. + Large and comfortable lobby. I haven't seen anyone sitting there, though... + A special charm of a fin de siecle hotel.

The rooms are quite old. The bathroom was shaby and poorly heated. The floor in the bathroom was close to freezing temperature.\ It's not the right area if you want to have a fun evening!

Location is great for walking but you will need to travel a bit to the ski lifts. The hotel is old fashioned and seems to have had its glory days around the 60-ies 70-ies of the 20th century. The pool was quite small but unexpectedly nice with great window view.
