Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The stairs were terrible, had to carry my luggage up the long stairs.

The showers were cold No elevator only stairs No reception or staff available after 3pm Had to enter via a dark alley way after 3pm The room was tiny and it had no heating The mattress and pillows made the sleep hard and impossible

2 flts Stairs to my floor, no lifts. No towel in my private room. Most bathrooms only COLD showers available. Need to use back alley entrance after 3pm. Fire alarms worked well, we evacuated over burnt toast in kitchen.
Location good for buses, shops & waterfront close. Q- Bed comfy. Quiet at night.

Limited Customer service business hours where you must provide physical credit card payment for key return warranty. Customer person who was extremely unpleasant and quite arrogant with the power of take it or go anywhere else at the end of the day.

Room was avg and bed was avg to sleep on and floor had long black hairs and need to be vacuumed Men's Bathroom vent was covered in dusted, Shower one of the shower doors wont close and the other shower has white product build up and hair pink mold on the inside of the wall .

The hot water in the ladies shower on the first level takes ages to heat up. There are posters everywhere about saving water but then you have to wait at least 8 minutes for any hot water.
Great location right in the middle of the CBD.

The kitchen was not well maintained or clean, there was no hot water in lots of the showers.
The location was really central, there was lots of seating space in the communal areas.

It’s in a second floor and it doesn’t have lift, and it’s and old building so the second floor is farther than a normal second floor and if you go with suitcases it’s exhausting. The room had a smell like old or humid. Everything looks and is old.
The price for a single room was good and the location is excellent

It doesn’t have lifts so I needed to carry all my heavy luggages by myself using the stairs… Also the facilities are pretty old, so I couldn’t get hot shower on the 1st floor. The staffs were nice and friendly.
It’s in a good location, center of CBD, close to Woolworth and bus stops.

The location was good, but that's about all I can say. I couldn't find any other accommodations, so I ended up at the hostel. The room was a mixed dorm with eight beds and a small space with a tiny open window – that was all we had to work with. It smelled bad when we entered, and it didn't look clean. The whole building, three floors, had worn-out carpets. The toilets and bathrooms were okay, although I kept sneezing from the thick layer of dust on the vents. The kitchen looked somewhat clean. I met others who stayed longer at the hostel because they were working or studying, but I'm not sure if I'll stay long. It's not a healthy environment to be in. Basic things like fresh air, cleanliness, and beauty are missing, but that's what you get for the price. It's a cheap hostel, close to a supermarket and eateries. I wouldn't go back a second time. If you have another option, go there. If you don't, then you have no choice but to spend a night or a few nights at this hostel.
