Longstanding mould in bathroom. No screens on windows requiring windows to be closed from evening time onwards, making the room hot all night.

The bathroom was dirty & very mouldy. The toilet brush was horrifically dirty. The back door continually slammed loudly as people left all hours of the night & early morning. There was no one at reception from 4pm causing quite a bit of confusion from new guests on arrival.

Central position to my needs Bed was comfortable. Room was warm.

The place could do with a little love; the carpets looked worn out and even dirty in certain places (ie staircase). The room also smelt a little stuffy when we entered, so perhaps a little more airing out before guests arrive. Being there briefly, it was a passable experience. There didn’t seem to be enough parking for the guests, as I had to park elsewhere, it was close by, yet may be problematic for some. Close to a busy road, so perhaps come prepared with earplugs.

The view was great, and location was too to access Salamanca Market, Hobart CBD, and even the Eastern Shore (only minutes from Eastlands, where my friends and I went to see a movie). It offered what we needed, which was a room to sleep in for the night and to have access to a bathroom and shower. Basic amenities such as mini fridge, hairdryer, kettle was appreciated. Friendly staff.

Stairs need recovering & booking in needs to be one or two days before. We were on a plane when message received asking for ID & cc before we had access. Had the plane been 15 mins later don’t know what we’d have done

Room was basic. Bathroom was very small, no where to hang towels, toilet & bathroom floor could do with a good clean. Stairs leading to room had threadbare carpet. There are a lot of stairs & no elevator. Please note that the parking is at the back of hotel.

The room & floors was extremely dusty & dirty in places. Was lacking basic comforts like towel hooks or shelves in the bathroom, there was only a small rail above the toilet. There’s no toaster or cutlery in the rooms but that is stated in the Q&As if you look. There is no air conditioning or ceiling fans but there is a small floor heater & fan, i think the rooms would be freezing in the winter months & quiet stuffy in summer.

The bed & pillows were comfortable. The location was good.

Hall leading to the room was littered with leaves and dirt blown in through the back door. Blinds on all windows had patches of mold.

A couple of days prior to arrival, we realised that we would be arriving after reception closed. Staff were very helpful in arranging for the key to be picked up from a lock box.

Room could have more lighting especially as the one that I occupied was on the “wrong” side, with a view of the next-door apartments and not on the “mountain view” side. New carpet - or none at all - would be more appropriate for the stairs leading to the rooms.

Very good location close to restaurants in both Battery Point and Sandy Bay. Parking available on site or bus stop available near the property’s front entrance. Good bottle shop also near by. Comfortable room for one or two. Understanding and helpful staff. All in all good value.
