Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room had minor PM issues which we discovered over the course of staying 2 nights - not show stoppers, but makes you feel you are not getting your moneys worth. hole in drywall, leaking shower spray, broken shelf in fridge TV not working WiFi not working These should be reason to offer a discount or at least an apology at time of check in
Can’t beat the location and convenience of the ski / chain hire shop right there. The continental breakfast is handy, and I appreciate them allowing me to grab earlier brekky at 7AM (makes it easier to get up the mountain) but official breakfast time is still too late (7:30AM)

Only real downside was the WiFi was not working.
The staff were amazing! Especially Amy, who went above and beyond for us when the TV couldn't get picture. She arranged a new TV for the room. Also a shout out the the man who came up and installed the TV in the evening. The gent who serves the breakfast shift is a real hoot and brightened our mornings.

The shower door in the bathroom doesn’t close so there’s water leaking outside the shower area. Soap bar seemed old and shampoo/conditioner weren’t sealed so i bet they didnt change them. The ski hire shop beside the hotel were understaffed so the waiting time was long. Waited for an hour even though there were only 5 groups in front of us.
Location is great. Awesome breakfast and nice staff. They have partner ski hire shop which is convenient if you want to hire ski stuff. Overall, it was a nice stay at Bright Chalet.

We didn’t really dislike anything, everything was lovely and we were happy.
Really lovely room, clean and cozy, good sized room and overall just really nice. Lovely renovated modern bathroom.

The walls are thin so it can be very noisy if other guests are not considerate. The breakfast does not start until 0730h so if you want to get up the mountain for first tracks you will need to skip the included breaky.
We have stayed at Bright Chalet a couple of times for the snow season. It is good value, the continental breakfast has good choices (including gluten free) and the location is a short 2 minute drive into Bright main centre.

I didn't like was breakfast. It's just a few thing like bread, Nutella and some juice, yoghurt...

The bathroom was tidy but not clean when we arrived. We had hair from the previous guests throughout the bathroom. The walls also allow incidental noise from other rooms and the hallway.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the included breakfast is great value with a good amount of choice for a continental breakfast.

Breakfast could open at 7AM to help people who need to head up the mountain earlier Sometimes can hear other guests washroom facilities from your room - not a big deal. Cleaning staff forgot to restock conditioner 2nd and 3rd night. I wish the lounge room was a bit more set up w sofas or a working TV to allow a more relaxed atmosphere- we brought our own cards and set up the chairs ourselves.
Great and location and wonderful ski rental / snow chain company right there. Dinner was a great experience and having a lounge are to connect with other families was nice

Didn't like the shower in bath due to my dad's age and my poor knees. Not a huge problem but normal walk in shower my h preferred . Small table n chairs would be great although not a nevessoty
Lovely quiet locaion. Great staff. Great breakfast included. Lovely gardens at rear. Not far to town so long as you have car which most do.

There was a big hole in the wall in our room, not sure why they didn’t put us in a different room until it’s fixed. TV remote hardly worked.
Rooms were decent sized, warm, clean, and beds were comfortable. It’s in a nice location with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Breakfast range was minimal but good enough - toast, cereal and yoghurt.

Ground floor rooms didn’t have sheer curtains on the windows which made it a bit uncomfortable
Our breakfast was included in the package, although if you wanted cooked breakfast it was extra.

No curtains. Fixed Breakfast menu. Tad too pricey.
1 km from city centre. Close to Bright Memorial Arboretum, Morse Creek. If you don’t have a car this is a 30 minute walk to the city for restaurants or eateries. Accessible by Vline. Clean rooms, ready on time. Only continental for complimentary breakfast - oats, chia pudding, toast, cereal same thing every morning. Rooms in the front have a common balcony which is not my thing. No curtains only blinds which is a big disadvantage- you have a common balcony, and no curtains you’re apparently throwing privacy out of that balcony - less rating only for this. TV was not supporting even SBS channels.
