Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Pool area quite small but the lagoon is very close by.
Great studio apartment for our time in cairns. Excellent location, very close to town. Kitchen was big and good facilities to cook with.

There wasn’t a lift which did make getting luggage up difficult, but, I only had to do that once during the stay 🙂 Also my text message with the code came a day late.

The facility was a bit old. The window handle was broken and so was the soap holder in the shower. But everything else was great.
It was simple but great value for money. Nice and quiet location but close enough to most of the important places in town.

The size of the balcony was way too small. The dryer in the room was faulty, which we did not know about until we put our clothes in it to dry Not long after we started the dryer we could smell smoke followed by the smoke detector going off. Had to wait until staff started the next morning to inform them what had happen. We were moved to another room which was nicer then the one we first had. The view was not great.
The accommodation was in a great location, walking distance to the Esplande and many other places. Had secure car parking.

Just the view of a car park wasn’t t very nice but that’s what you get when you ask for the cheapest room. Also the chair on the balcony was torn and couldn’t sit on it.
Pool was very nice, friendly staff and the bed was very comfortable. Size of the room was great too.

The building is older, so please don’t expect luxury accommodations for this price. The front desk has limited hours. The AC in my unit kept the bed area cool, but not the rest of the space. The location was good but not ideal. I could walk to the main areas without too much trouble.
My room was very spacious with a kitchen and ample bathroom. Most of the unit has been updated and furnished with a modern style. The front desk staff helped with an easy check in.

Nothing. It doesn't have a lift, but that wasn't a problem.
This was my second stay at Cascade Gardens. I like that it's located near the quiet end of the Esplanade. It's self-contained, everything is provided to prepare a simple meal, spacious, clean and quiet.

Never saw anyone at the reception except day after I arrived (I arrived after hours and took my key from box).I went down next morning to ask if I needed to check in.'No, you're checked in,' I was told. No welcome, nothing. A few things, like the kettle, had not really been cleaned.
Good location and reasonably priced. Big living space and comfortable bed.

My only suggestions are regarding ventilation whilst cooking as I didn't find any, so the room was steamy for a while. Also I think a little more lighting in the dining table area would be useful, as we found it a little dark. The positives far out way any small changes I would make. It's good value for the facilities on offer and proximity to the beach/entertainment areas.
The studio apartment had everything needed to cater for a couple of people. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked well. It's near the beach and shops/restaurants all within walking distance. A secure car park and barbeque area make this an ideal place for a break.

No door / curtain on shower was the only issue..a lot of water on floor.
Location was fantastic 5 min walk to Esplanade..loved the pool and the room was very comfortable... will definitely stay here again.
