Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bed was very hard. This was my only complaint.
Location is great, close to free tram and centre of Melbourne. Room was adequate for what I required and clean however the mattress was so hard i kept waking up with sore hips.

the cleanliness of the bathrooms was less than ideal throughout the day. i saw people cleaning in the morning but i think it would be beneficial to have someone go through in the evening as well.
the hotel was in a fantastic location, close to theatres and cafes and public transport. and a short walk from everything. very convenient. the staff were friendly if i needed anything, and the room was comfortable.

Was noisy at night, walls very thin. We came during F1 weekend so perhaps cost was inflated but it wasn’t great value Felt a bit dated

The room had a bit of a musty smell when I entered, so you might want to have room spray or sanitizer to spray it off. Room don’t get cleaned everyday and there’s no air conditioning, just a fan but honestly i came during the summer and it was fine cos temp drops at night.
The location was great! If you are a budget traveller, it’s a pretty decent stay. I mean i only need a place to sleep and shower. Since it is located in CBD, it’s really value for money! It was just a 10min walk from MCG & it’s in between very expensive hotels like the Savoy and Sheraton so felt pretty safe. I got the shared bathroom option since that was the only one available and the baths were pretty decent. There’s 2 where the showers and toilet is in one bathroom so for Muslim travellers this is handy than going for the multiple-dorm like shared bathroom. Rooms don’t get cleaned everyday tho so it’s up to you to maintain it the entire stay. I didn’t opt to use their towels or the laundry facilities but if you’re ok with those then it might be handy.

The outside area on the rooftop could be cleaned better. In the bathroom and on the stairs, there was a fun smell.

Noise from neighbours, some toilets had strange smell.
The room was quite okay. Towels, tea, coffee, milk, cattle, fridge , TV, etc. pretty basic and simple. The location is pretty good.

Cleanliness really needs to be addressed, bathroom wasn't fab, not very clean. Hotel is a bit tired, needs a bit of refurbishment but even without this happening if it had been spotless then it would have been fine.
Location is great, I was only in Melbourne for two nights and was meeting friends predominantly in the cbd was it was great to be close to everything

Toilets could have been improved with minimal investment. A water fountain on room level would be fantastic rather than having to go to the roof kitchen for water.
Had all the basics right for the price they charged. Its meant to be a budget hotel and met the basics. Location was a big plus.

The roof top garden is NOTHING like the picture and very average and dirty. The upstairs kitchen is not fantastic. It seemed dirty and we chose not to use these facilities.

Cleanliness can be improved. There were traces of hair on one of the beds. A few of the toilets were dirty upon arrival but that was understandable because it was late at night.
Loved the location. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. There were multiple shower and toilet areas and they were mostly clean. Communication was great, thanks for accommodating!
