Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very hot weather. Could not work the air conditioner. But staff very helpful the next day.

"Wall" of tub came away when my heel scraped it entering shower. Informed nice desk clerk, she assured me it occurred often and she'd get it fixed. Wasn't fixed until second night, but was only propped up with pieces of wood. It fell again. We didn't mind much, just had to step over it to enter shower, but could've been dangerous. Maybe they waited til we left to completely repair it.
Room was clean, comfortable, spacious.

when booking, I didn't realize that we would be so far from the city csnter. However, the bus made it work for us. The property is dated but it was clean and comfortable.
The lodge was close to the bus stop. We arrived late and clear instructions were left for us. The staff was very friendly and informative, especially regarding myki cards. Also, after a day of walking in Melbourne, the Jacuzzi tub was a god send.

The were insects on the bed and floor:( shops were all so far away.

Rooms are very tired some updating wouldn't go astray
Location was ideal for my visit without a car I used public transport, bus and train easy to get around. Room was very comfortable, clean and very comfy beds. Although this Motel is on a main road it is quiet. Elizabethan Lodge is good value for money

My room was separate by a door with the next room. Toilet window was not able to close. Weak wifi and very temperamental.
Friendly staff. Worthy. Next to highway. 10mins to city by car. Quiet. Very clean. Good room cleaning

Had to wash dishes / cups ourselves each day during a 3 day stay - only a teatowel was provided nil detergent
Check in was easy, staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, bed / pillows comfortable. Bathroom was good - shower water pressure was good / water hot. Toiletries provided were good quality. Easy parking and surrounding area was quite of other guests. Fresh towels were provided each day and rubbish removed - over a 3 night stay

The bed was way too soft, and the shrub outside my unit needs pruning back badly, apart from that everything was pretty good
There wasn’t any breakfast since you asked, but I didn’t expect any, when I actually found the staff they were friendly, the room was priced correctly in a good location.

Dark carpet, attracts bugs like mosquitoes. Got bitten right away when I got in the room. The interior looks old.
It was like where we stayed before in New Zealand. Comfortable, complete amenities and grateful for the laundry facility.

Nice and quiet location with friendly and helpful staff. They had just finished some renovations on the room and the new TV that had been installed wasn't working properly. I notified reception and within 10-15 minutes I had a replacement TV installed for my stay. Very impressed.

The room was fairly new, but could do with a curtain for the edges of the blind. The freezer compartment of the fridge could have done with a wipe out. Maybe a little pruing of the garden beds is needed. The bathroom door banged on the toilet when opening.
Very clean, We had one of the new looking room. Quiet and comfortable. Glad to see a shower with a shelf for your toiletries and good water pressure, enough towels. Handy crockery and extra bedding , plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. Good air conditioning Friendly maid/staff. Clean bedding Free toiletries No noise from the road 5minutes to the shopping centre

The room needs a refresh. A bathroom update would be good - a shower installation that doesn't require stepping into the spa bath (which needs to be updated or removed) and a new sink and taps that don't leak when turned on. Lack of storage, wardrobe space and drawers, for longer stays. The doors into the rooms are hard to close and are very noisy when closing. The laundry facility needs to be cleaned.
The room was very spacious and had all of the basic amenities that were expected. The daily cleaning by Tanya was without fault and Maria on Reception was extremely helpful.
