Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe lack of direct window to outside was not ideal, the window-to-walkway meant there could be daylight if curtains were open, just not fresh air or privacy. All the pillows were soft - maybe provide some firmer ones too. Decor a bit stark, with white walls and dark red velvet furniture.
The heritage restoration is charming and done well with some modern twists, especially in the entrance and common areas. Centrally located, near harbour, parks, Salamanca. The staff member was friendly.

AustraliaWouldn't suggest any changes and would definitely stay here next time we come to Hobart as such a wonderful place.
The Hotel was a beautiful historic building and furnished fabulously. Room was extremely large with fridge and tea/coffee facilities plus a well equipped bathroom. Complementary continental breakfast was very satisfying and had wonderful quirky crockery which just made the whole experience special. There were a couple of reception rooms which were fitted out beautifully and had lovely historical Tasmania literature books. Staff were also very friendly and helpful

AustraliaWe were provided a family suite with 2 bedrooms but the only bathroom was attached to one of the bedrooms. To use the bathroom/toilet you had to enter the other bedroom. The room was located below street level with 2 flights of steps. No lift in this building. Challenging for my aged mother who has limited mobility.
The accommodation was well located within walking distance to restaurants, the docks and the market. Continental breakfast was provided. The rooms were comfortable and generous in size and was well equipped. Parking was providing but at a cost.

AustraliaNot enough hooks to hang your bath towels up, also could do with another small cupboard or table in the bathroom as there was not enough space to put our toiletries etc.,
Lovely breakfast, staff were most helpful. Good to have 2 extra toilets in the hall as we were 5 ladies in the room with one toilet.

United KingdomWe had hired a 'compact' car and the car park was small and if we had had a bigger car it would have been difficult to turn in the limited space. The car park was a bit difficult to find and perhaps better instructions would have helped; although we could have done more homework on finding the place.
Character of the old building and the room was good, you had a feeling of being part of the history of Hobart. Breakfast was good. Staff attentive. And there was a private car park.

AustraliaParking not the best especially when you have a early start 3am and a guest just leaves you 2inches to manoeuvre your car past theirs, 6 parking place’s only so booking is essential. Was nearly ready to ring late night emergency phone number but was able to get out after a last try.
Staff very helpful and a easy place to stay, good walk to all some nice restaurants close by, lovely building.

AustraliaI had booked a parking space 4 months in advance, as I have mobility issues. I checked in February if my parking spot was still secure. They emailed me the night before my stay, to inform me that my space had been doubled booked and they were so sorry! Then gave me directions to the nearest public car park that was 800m away if there weren't any spaces on the street. No explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled and not the other party. Offered us a free coffee with our breakfast. Next morning they informed me that the other party didn't show up so we could have had the park after all, she laughed about it. I ended up getting a discount on the room, but for someone who has difficulty moving, this was a bigger problem than they realised, and didn't like how flippant they were.
Very nice building. Staff were lovely and helpful when we had a mix up with our parking space. Shower was adequate. Bed was very comfortable and bedding was luxurious. Pillows nice too.

AustraliaThis hotel is clearly undergoing a long-term renovation project, so some areas are more advanced than others. The dining room looks superb, whereas our bedroom had a lot of dated and scruffy features in addition to some fine renovation aspects. Great breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

United KingdomThe frontage of the hotel does not seem welcoming and we wondered if it was open, when we first arrived. On both occasions we arrived about 6pm and although the key collection was communicated well and was easy, it would be nice to have been welcomed in person.
This is an older property in Hobart and provides a comfortable stay in a building with character. We saw no staff on arrival but they were friendly and helpful at breakfast times. We used this hotel at the beginning and end of a tour (which was part of a bigger holiday) and our main luggage was stored and our cases in our room when we returned.
