Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The air conditioning unit was old and incredibly loud - impossible to keep on while trying to sleep, so a stay in the Summer may not be pleasant and the window did not open. The traffic was loud but that is to be expected on a main road in Sydney.
The room was fit for purpose. It was an overnight stay for a concert at Sydney Olympic Park and we were able to get a King Room at short notice. Good location, good options for food around and the parking was $5 per night. The room was clean.

Just a minor one. On arrival A/C was on and there was no remote to turn it off so had to ask cleaner as was too high for me to switch button off

Shower and toilet was the size of a cupboard with the hand basin in the bedroom. Hallway needed renovation.

The only issue I had here was the cockroaches. It was unpleasant at all to encounter them. Sorry but I think that you must do something more about this problem.
The place is located very close to the bus stop which was very good for us to get around easily. The zise of the room was quite small and the bathroom as well but very well equipped. It was clean and had a comfortable bed.It worthy.

The bathroom was extremely small and the toilet cubical was to small for anyone that is not super thin but it was clean

The corridor carpet might need a deep cleaning or replacement. The rooms are a bit congested.
I like the location and it is good value for money. The staff are very helpful. Very good for a solo traveler.

Wasn't a fan of the stairs, but we knew when we booked there was no elevator and asked for a lower level room, which we got so only had to walk up one level with all of our bags.
Room very clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom was tiny and cramped but it was only for one night.

Way too small. Basically sitting in the shower to use the toilet. No privacy to even goto bathroom if sharing with anyone. Nowhere to put anything. Bad lighting. No fresh air, boxed in. Just overall a very tiny pokie room only ment for overnight sleep and shower. Also the whole building leaked in the rain, 3rd floor right through to the ground floor. Saturated carpet, slippery tile stairwell.
Left booking accommodation too late so limited options. Ibis Budget looked like it would meet my friend and myself needs so booked. Turned out ok but very tiny rooms, no privacy going to bathroom when other person is sitting or sleeping right outside the bathroom door that doesn't fully reach to ground lol. Overnight stay would be OK, but any longer and it's just way too small. Good to sleep an grab a shower. And the lighting in the room was shocking unfortunately. Also no ventilation what so ever, only an aircon circulating the same air over an over. TV wouldn't connect it wifi as was mentioned to either

The aircon was a tad noisy and the property was a little rundown, but it was tidy and what we needed for one night. We did hear people complaining about water in their rooms from the rain, so there must of been a lot of leakages. Ours was fine.
It was convenient and close to what we needed, the beds were super comfortable and it was great that breakfast was included in our deal. The staff were super friendly and helpful, very accomodating.

Everything. There was no prior warning about no elevator or that the property is on a highway. The entire building was leaking water down the floors, it stunk of cigarette smoke. The staff was rude, the breakfast was $10 for a bit of toast and juice. The washing facilities were below usual backpackers standard. Overall not great.
The bed was comfortable.
