The beds! Far too soft to the point of discomfort. I ended up sleeping on the floor to try and ease the pain in my lower back We were told we had a complimentary tour of the historic section of the mansion at check in but were not told it was in fact closed to the public during our stay

The pool is beautiful and very family friendly. The gardens were lovely to stroll around after dinner. The staff were lovely and the service they provided was excellent

The vibe in restaurant could be improved. Ambiance

The room was great. Very comfortable. Dinner overpriced but nice. Breakfast was included so that was great. Staff training could be improved in restaurant. Pool was great and nice and warm.

Bed was too soft... Entertainment options were not great...$16 a movie was ridiculous for movies that's been on the circuit for a while. Dinner options too expensive eg ( $90 -$100 per person) A free bottle of wine but unfortunately not something that we drink...a few options to choose from would have been nice....

Exceptional staff , good breakfast but a bit more variety if staying more than 2 nights. Awesome location

Congested brekkie area but I get that it’s a heritage building. No hand towel or enough hooks in bathroom.

Proximity to mansion and library. Bar area cool. Lots of space to wander. Colour scheme.

Beds could be slightly more firmer/comfier but that could just be a personal preference. Eating in the lounge area is good if you have children but the food took a while to arrive and had a bit too much salt on it especially the hot chips.

Breakfast was nice with plenty of variety. The pool is nice but the gym is rather small and not much in it. The grounds and garden are lovely to explore and spend some time in.

Phone making engaged signal sound in room. Bathroom switch near the door to room, which took us some time to find at night. Not being advised that entrance gate 2 closes at 9pm, unfortunately maps took us to gate 5 and we had to work out ourselves to go to gate 2 and buzz reception to let us in. No lighting what so ever leading up to our accommodation.

I think the bathroom in the room could be a little cleaner, particularly the floors and the rust in the bath. The tiles in the pool area also need to be fixed.

The facilities a great, I think it is very accomodating to families and the service was great.

Who on earth had the idea to put tea and coffee in the wardrobe? We discovered it when we leaving and disappointed not to have our morning cup of tea.

Breakfast was great. They ran out of some buffet options but quickly replenished. The room was fine.

The road in needs to be sealed. We have a nice car and travelling on those roads was not comfortable or good for our car The shower in the bath was dangerous. Guests should be made aware of this slip hazard getting in and out of the bath post shower The bath was not wide enough to stand comfortably to shower without feeling insecure. Not good for the elderly

The service in Joseph’s was inconsistent. A few staff offered a smile when greeting or interacting with us, most didn't. The excellent pool was offset a little by the tiles which had been eroded away by salt.

An ideal location for relaxing. The setting in spacious grounds was lovely. We received excellent, friendly service from reception.

The bathroom was small and mirrors steamed over because there was no exhaust. The big slider door was heavy and awkward to open and close

Fascinating building and history. Lots to do and see, like the open range zoo, the chirnside mansion, shadowfax winery, walks in the gardens and along the river to the old village. The staff were very friendly.

Bed was far too soft... to the point where it was quite difficult to get comfortable and sleep. Woke up regularly through the night and had trouble getting comfortable to get back to sleep again. Guests staying as part of a wedding group were very noisy outside our room while we were trying to get to sleep. Not a specific issue caused by the hotel, but guests need to be aware that this is a very popular venue for weddings on weekends.

Beautiful location for romantic overnight stay. Room was well appointed with bottle of wine a nice bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful.
