Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Bedroom too small, bedroom sink out of order, airco unit leaking, no chill-out area with airco, bathrooms not cleaned very often and never in depth
Comfy bed, powerful airco in room, fridge and pantry box, staff were very helpful and kind.

The bathrooms were very hot as there were no windows, so much moisture so weren’t the cleanest
The property was in a good location, staff were friendly and included free breakfast The rooms had air con which was really good, beds were comfy

It was a 15 min walk from the CBD which isn’t too bad but there are many hostels a lot closer to the centre for the same price. The kitchen was dirty sometimes. Laundry was unavailable from 10am-3pm everyday which caused a rush at 3pm of everyone trying to wash their clothes.
We booked a private room and it was so nice to have a private bathroom and tv after so many nights in shared dorms. The bathroom was so clean and the bed was big. The kitchen had everything you needed although it was crowded most of the day. The breakfast was nice even though it was simple

Far away from city centre. During wet season everything felt damp.

everything else except the room is really dirty and really hot. it‘s like 40 degrees when you are in the kitchen or entrance.
the rooms are really clean and the staff is very friendly. the door keys via phone i love it.

No lockers in the bedrooms (not really needed as people are great) I spent 2 weeks there. Prices started to go up.
Staff, guests and the vibe are great. Loads of young people living/working until they find an apartment makes the environment good, respectful and fun.

The location is the worst! It is completely outside of the city on a freeway! You need 20-30 minutes to get anywhere. I would totally recommend to book a Mad Monkey Hostel which is in the city centre. The prices are nearly the same but the location is way more convenient
The overall concept of the hostel is great - you can meet people, go to the pool, have free breakfast & different activities every day

The shower in the private suite is not well-maintained. The water flow is very low and water temperature doesn’t stay steady. There is not storage inside the suite. If you plan to go to reef fleet terminal, it’s about 30 minutes walking distance.
The atmosphere and vibes are great. Staff are amazing and friendly.

No closet or wardrobe for clothes.
Nice hostel for backpackers. Simple Room with not many clothes storage options. I appreciate the pool, breakfast and the nice staff. Good value for money.

Kitchen was small for the amount of people and bathrooms could be a little cleaner, the fridge room was a bit smelly and another indoor common area would be a good idea
Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable and the privates had a big TV with Netflix. Decent bathrooms and kitchen area and free gym passes and free breakfast every morning

We had a really nice private room, with a massive tv with Netflix, a hairdryer & straightener. Free breakfast was good, pancakes & toast with various sauces, as well as cold filter water. Location was ok, about a 10/15 minute walk to most things

Very nice crew. Pancakes for breakfast and had a bbq one of the nights i stayed. The vibe of the hostel is perfect if you wanna meet new people. Bed was confortable and room was spacious

The mattress dipped down in the middle which was a bit uncomfortable.
Big kitchen, even though there weren’t that money toilets/showers they weren’t crowded at all, nice and big common room!

The 8 dorm is very cramped not much storage space Can’t use the washers between 10-2 so you have to try get there quick or you can’t use it for ages
The hostel was really clean! Great way to meet people everyone is really friendly and the breakfast was great
