Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Internet was a little slow.
Location and quality of apartment provided. Close to central Nelson Bay and restaurants/cafes. Professional and personable manner of reception staff (Carole), always friendly and interested in our stay with them and the activities we used in Nelson Bay. The facilities and inclusions modern, TV included access to Foxtel. Free internet. Secure underground parking with elevator access to reception and all floors.

We urgently needed to know something about turning on the stove in the evening and there was no answer anywhere, neither by phone nor on the website, and we could not turn on the stove until the morning.
The location is really good.

I loved that the staff were able to accommodate me on short notice. You see I had to book my accommodation the day before, which meant I would have had to arrive at 7:30pm on a Sunday night. On the Sunday my flights changed, and I was redirected to Sydney and had to catch a 2.5hr cab fare to Port Stephens, which would have meant I would be arriving close to midnight. When I advised the property; Carol told me that that would not be a problem and immediately offered me a late check out at 1:00pm. I was so impressed by her thoughtfulness and kindness; this is not something which is very common in today's hospitality game. I would definitely stay there again and the next time, I will bring my family!

Unfortunately we were told they were busy snd we could not get a late check out but no big deal
Front desk person was fantastic. So helpful and let us in on an early mark. We have stayed there before and it seemed to have had a facelift. Next time in NB we will stay there.

Nothing at all
Spent a weekend here with my partner and loved it. It’s just a short stroll to all the shops, cafes and stunning marina. The room was clean, a huge comfortable bed with ocean views. The coffee machine (with complimentary pods) were a nice addition. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner etc. Sat round the beautiful swimming pool one afternoon. Plus a free security car park… A wonderful property! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just want to say how awesome and friendly Carol was during our stay. Very friendly and knew so much about the area which was helpful, walk to everything too. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, we had the best sleep. Highly recommend the Oaks to stay. We’ll be back for sure 10/10.

I’m a tea drinker only. With only 4 tea bags for 2 people we ran out on our first day. The kettle didn’t fit under the bathroom tap to fill it for our cup of tea.
Shower was excellent. Appreciated the bottle of wine for my birthday, that was lovely. Room was clean. Very enjoyable stay.

The metal shutters on the window banged so much in the wind that kept us awake a little, however when we told staff they sorted something for us really fast and nothing was trouble for them.
Matt in reception was so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very clean and tidy, location was great and the bed was comfortable.
