McAlpine house is a bed and breakfast and doesn't have dinner options in the evening - which meant that we had to go out. Just a few more plates and utensils in the rooms would be great as there is a really nice area to sit outside at night and have snacks, but we just needed the plates and utensils. This is a small 'could improve more' in the context of an excellent venue.

Each morning freshly made breakfast for all guests was served around a bit table where we got to know our fellow guests, compared travel plans and got the inside information, aided by the team from McAlpine House, on the best things to do.

Room and pool were exceptionally clean. Quality linen and amenities. Breakfast was made with delicious fresh produce. Hospitality was second to none. Walking distance to Matsos and beach. Will definately return should we be in Broome again.

This place was perfect!

This boutique hotel features traditional Broome style buildings centred around a beautiful pool and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The rooms are very well appointed with their own private outdoor areas with garden views. The Management (Owner Marilynne & Manager Renaldo) were so welcoming, informative and hospitable.

This is not a glitzy modern resort. In fact, everything has been maintained to reflect the lifestyle of earlier days. Yet the air conditioning worked well, the pool was great and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Sun rises very early in Broome, so maybe a blind over the back windows could help with a light room early in the morning

A light breakfast each day was on offer, as welll as a set cooked breakfast by Rinaldo.. I did miss a cold juice. Quiet, private rooms in a garden setting. There are only 8 suites at this site & child free. There was a very friendly Welsh corgi who also enjoyed the beautiful surrounds

Breakfast was excellent and varied from day to day. The owners are amazing. They brief guests really well - not only on the property but the attractions and restaurants in Broome...... they go the extra mile with their hospitality. Bed linen, tea and coffee in room and bathroom products were of excellent quality.

Dining room for breakfast overlooking nice pool area. Great coffee and homemade bread with breakfast. Ideal location just a short walk from Matsos, which is a must. Comfortable 20-minute walk into town with only 1 small hill, so very easy. Bus stop nearby with regular services into town, Cable Beach other areas with cheap fares - make sure you have the correct change! Approx 10-minute easy walk to the museum and town beach, both of which are worth a look.

Loved the historical timber home with original window shutters, the modern rooms, the well established tropical garden, the parrots & the welcoming staff.

The real treat is the setting. An old post colonial style with some modern inclusions. Private, peaceful and close to the bus that provides easy and cheap access to most of Broome.

The house is old world beautiful, hosts were fantastic. Location is great if you have a car otherwise lots of walking between the house and town/restaurants or use taxi's.

Fantastic cool tropical setting with lots of areas to relax. Breakfast room was great opportunity to mix with other guests. Staff extremely helpful.

The room was large, clean and comfortable with a very comfortable king size bed. Great shower. Great breakfasts every morning and helpful with organising extra tours around Broome. We were able to walk to a lot of places around Broome. All in all, great. We would stay here again.
