Real guests. Real stays. Real opinions.Read more- opens a dialog box
Only a customer who has booked through Booking.com and stayed at the property in question can write a review. This lets us know that our reviews come from real guests, like you. Who better to tell others about the free breakfast, friendly staff, or quiet room than someone who’s stayed at the property before?
We want you to share your story, both the good and the bad. All we ask is that you follow a few simple guidelines.
We believe review contributions and property responses will highlight a wide range of opinion and experiences, which are critical in helping guests make well-informed decisions about where to stay.
Contributions to Booking.com are a reflection of the dedication of our guests and properties, and are treated with the utmost respect.
Whether negative or positive, we'll post every comment in full, as quickly as possible, after being moderated to comply with Booking.com guidelines. We'll also provide transparency over the status of submitted content.
Once a review has been submitted, you can modify it by contacting Booking.com customer service.
We will use the same guidelines and standards for all user-generated content as well as the property replies to that content.
We will allow the contributions to speak for themselves, and we won’t be the judge of reality. Booking.com’s role is that of a distributor of feedback from both guest and property.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc...).End of dialog content

I didn't notice when I booked that the property doesn't have internet/wifi. I'm still glad we stayed there and would stay again, but having wifi would be really helpful for international travelers (like us) or people who like using their devices while away.
I loved this cottage! My husband and I stayed 3 nights and were very comfy. The gas fireplace worked great and the kitchen was well set up. It was lovely to have local family visit us there too and we all enjoyed sitting out in the garden for afternoon tea. The location is perfect too - close to the shops, supermarket, and train station. I believe it's worth the extra money to have the convenience and privacy of the cottage over staying in a B&B or motel.

Access is via a real estate agent, who have extra contract conditions and an add on fee. This detracts from a great property. Who wants to be interrupted by the agent when every other property using the booking.com rules. Just bureaucratic nonsense

Nothing really - we were there during a public holiday so never got the chance to meet the hosts, so a bit of the human touch missing, that said - communication up front was good
Beautiful small house in the middle of castlemaine, with walking distance to most of town. Great private garden, with a BBQ, which was perfect with our small kids. Good hiking in the area. Like the small gifts on arrival

The bathroom was a little chilly with its stone floor and high ceilings - but then it was winter, and the water was nice and hot and the towels were plentiful.
The kitchen was well equipped for self-catering and the lounge room was comfortable, with an excellent gas heater that heated the kitchen, bedroom and lounge effectively.

There was plenty of room, it was clean, the bed was comfy, was in a great position close to shops and restaurants and a welcoming touch with chocolates and wine in the fridge. There was everything to like about Templeton Cottage...we loved it.

We anticipated that checking in at the estate agent would be a hassle, but in fact it wasn't a problem.
This is a delightful cottage in a central location, yet it has a rural feel about it as it is set back from the road in a cottage garden. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped and comfortable. It is full of character and charm.

Can't seem to control the heating so it was either on and very warm (too warm) or off and too cool - but it must be said, the heater works very well! Also the fact that even though there were only two of us, mother and daughter, the extra charge per night to use a single bed was too high.
The location is brilliant and the cottage very comfortable, wonderfully quiet at night and you have everything you need.
