How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Glass used and still had lipstick on it. Soap dispensers too high for kids to reach.
Location good, walking distance to CBD, Southbank and museum.

We thought the pool was supposed to be heated and it wasn’t. Room service meal from another room was left in hallway whole time we were there

The smell. On floor 18 there was a horrible odour when you exited the lift which spread into the apartment. I think it was the carpet which was coming up in the master bedroom. It just made everything feel unclean although it was clean. Annoyingly also the booking.com description said no parking so I booked the Wilson on the same road but they had plenty of reasonably priced parking.
Comfy bed, clean apartment. Good heated pool.

Central location, ease of access into accommodation once we checked in, the check in and check out processes were seamless. I love The Sebel vibe. It had a bit of a laid back atmosphere which really was just great. Housekeeping was great too!

Booked for two single beds and room had a double bed. Bed needed to be separated and remade for two singles. Staff were apologetic and sorted it out.
Clean, comfortable room with plenty of cupboard space. Checked-in a little earlier than expected. That was nice.

Needs a bit of refurbish. Carpets and curtains are getting old. Service at the Croft is below standard. But staff at the concierge were very helpful.

I requested the sofa bed be made up as I was travelling with my teen son and we'd be getting in after 9pm. The reception staff found sheets and blankets and made up the sofa bed. A saucepan in the kitchen cupboard was dirty. The aircon or water heater (not sure) is intermittently loud - the sound was coming from the ceiling outside the bathroom.
Location and staff were fantastic. The front desk staff were very sweet which immediately gives you a good welcoming feeling. The 1 bed apartment is great. We had room service and that was fantastic and the staff bringing it were lovely.

The bathroom/toilet was very small. The toilet did not have a brush to clean the pan - an omission that could have been embarrassing. I deeply dislike wall dispensers for liquid soap, shampoo and lotion - they smack of cheapness. I would be prepared to pay slightly extra for a small bar of soap. Although in good condition, the room showed its age by still having fax and modem plugs. The only USB charging points were in a bedside clock that had superseded, unusable docking for an old iPhone or iPad. After departure, we discovered we had been charged twice for the room and extras - once at check-in and again at check-out. I phoned, and reception accepted the error and agreed to refund. HOWEVER, WHILE IT TOOK ONLY MINUTES TO TAKE THE PAYMENT FROM MY CREDIT CARD, I WAS TOLD THE REFUND WOULD TAKE FIVE WORKING DAYS TO PROCESS. THIS IS VERY BAD SERVICE, WHEN OTHER RETAILERS ARE ABLE TO DO IT IMMEDIATELY ON THE SPOT.
We had a spacious 16th floor room with an outlook on to the street. Excellent location and convenient on-site parking for a reasonable charge.

Our first room had no a/c, but the staff happily arranged a new room for us quickly. It would be good to have a few basic cooking supplements in the room - salt, pepper, cooking oil.

The shower over the bath. Very high to step in and out of. The bathroom is very small, with the toilet behind the door.

The level 1 car park is very hot; literally have to hurry in and out. Need to provide guest with a leaflet containing fun things one can do within the city centre and the city at large.
Despite being located in the busy City Centre, there is absolute quietness within the apartments. The rooms are neat and spacious. The internet speed is good.

The variety in the restaurant. We weren't able to find a breakfast option for all of us. The dinner menu for in room service also didn't have a kids menu that we could locate.
Nice room. Good size for us. The fold out bed was perfect for the kids. The reception staff were friendly and helpful
