Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe lack of hotel parking - my problem, Sherwood Hotel advice clearly stated that when booking - however I didn’t realise it was near a transit centre and I feel next time for me I will not stay there despite the excellent value for money. The nearby Council carpark in the area was not an option for me. Parking on the street did not feel as safe as it could be. A big Ute parked in front of me at one stage when I was parking the car and the driver carefully place his beer bottle onto the road on his driver side before he left. The car sentry sparked from someone bumping into the car as they tried to navigate the pavement which disrupted a group dinner I was at as I needed to go and check the car. (No damage). Not an huge issue at all - the hotel part seemed well run and calm - just giving my experience from a four day stay. HINT. If you decide to park in the area there are parks where the Lismore council CCTV is pointing at your car and I ended up doing that.
Cleanliness of room. ORGANIC tea bags! Easy access and no human checkin process. Bathroom though old was ok and the water was HOT when it arrived! Art work was unexpected and delightful. They honoured the old “country pub” that existed and changes were sympathetic. Eg lead light above doors were kept and backed to reduce noise. Accommodation was excellent value for money. And quiet when I was there despite it being a hotel with a bar. Rooms are apparently soundproofed and with double glazed windows and no noise from adjoining walls despite a full house they did well. Live music sometimes but not when I was there. I checked for the time I was staying, and it may be worth doing. SHERWOOD HOTEL FOOD. Despite the wickedly bad food reviews on review sites it was recommended from a Lismore shop I trusted so decided to try it, Delicious. And caters for vegetarians. When I gave the feedback the bartender said they have a completely new head chef and he believes it changed their food game! I have to agree. Well worth trying if my experience was indicative of the present quality.

AustraliaIf you're planning to sleep early, you'll be impacted by the bar hours downstairs. Music travels through to the room. And tv ‘off light’ is super bright at eye level. Someone put something on top of it before but it was half cleaned so, affected my sleep too. Otherwise great!!
Great renovated room, cozy and clean.

AustraliaOverall it was a fine stay. The shower taps were a little bit hard and had to be closed vigorously for the water to stop dripping. It also has no view of anything, frosted windows, not a deal breaker, and we were warned in advance. We arrived on the weekend so there were no parking restrictions; but I wouldn't want to arrive during business hours as the whole area is restricted and the building doesn't have parking of its own.
Great location. Very convenient, close to everything. Clean, necessary amenities and safe. Excellent for a weekend getaway. Room was very quiet and also quite dark so that was nice for a good sleep. Comfy and spacious bed.

AustraliaThe room was dark, with no view. Bedside reading light was ineffectual. There weren't enough blankets, so I had to turn on the aircon, which i hate. Taps dripped.

AustraliaUnfortunately my room faced the courtyard and I like to open my window to get fresh air, so I could hear the patrons and the band playing. However the noise died down around 11pm so not that late.
The location was perfect, we could walk everywhere with lots of restaurant choices close by
