Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI did ask for 2 single beds and on arrival to our room was one King bed. However after I explained the situation it was soon rectified.
The location was great so close to transport. Easy to get around and explore.

AustraliaI wanted to watch free to air TV news but was put off by needing to register and accept terms and conditions to use TV when i wasn't planning on using live streaming services. I didn't use internet either as the system on offer lacked security.
My room was remarkably quiet given it faced the main street where the central bus and train station are located, The bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the lovely old style setting of the restaurant of the hotel

AustraliaI thought the buffet breakfast was lower quality given the exceptional standard the hotel sets elsewhere, however it was included in my already decent room price and therefore still added value for money and didn't phase me.
An excellent job of honouring the history of the building through the features and interior design in the lobby and the rooms, with a modern influence in line with today's comfort and luxury standards. I was travelling for work and even felt compelled to work in the lobby given how nice the experience was. I stayed in another "4.5 star" hotel the night before and it didn't get close to the Savoy on any level (including price) - It really makes me wonder how the star rating system works as the Savoy is leagues ahead.

AustraliaThe Taxi Service I requested via the front desk to travel to Port Melbourne to board a Cruise Ship on 27 February 2024, was unfortunately not a good experience, as we were overcharged by the taxi driver who provided very little communication and took us the long way to our destination. I advised the front desk when we returned from our cruise on 2 March 2024, so the next time we needed a Taxi I asked them to use SILVERTOP Taxis . The front desk did this for us the night before we left to catch our flight home on the morning of 4 March 2024, We had a good Silvertop Taxi Driver who got us safely to the Airport on time and at right price. A very good result.
See above- very good

United States of AmericaI don't feel that anything could have been better.
The Savoy Hotel is in an excellent location near Southern Cross train station. The room was cleaned every day and the bed and facilities in the room were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the buffet breakfasts that had everything you could want for breakfast. The restaurant for dinner was also very good. I also liked the music played in the hotel that was mainly songs of the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

New ZealandShower head fitting broken - notified Reception, but it was not fixed. Also very difficult to avoid shower flooding the bathroom. Window was filthy dirty - making room gloomy and almost impossible to see out. No seats in the room other than one desk chair (for a room with beds for three people). Not comfortable. Constant 1940s/50s music playing everywhere - especially at breakfast (it felt like being in a Dept store on Christmas Eve
