Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaI'd prefer an easier method to unlock bikes, but not a big deal. Loved having free bikes as guests, super amenity!
Loved the nespresso machine in the room. It was easy to get in and out, and great location. Loved having access to bicycles. Perfect central location for walking and exploring Gent. Very stylish, simple and well appointed. Perfect place to stay! Wonderful!

United KingdomRoom was on the small side but ok just for me. The bed was comfortable enough but it felt cheap and the mattress moved easily.
Great location - quiet street but easy walk to central Ghent. Beautiful lounge. Tea and coffee facilities. Very clean. I liked the tiny balcony which my room (number 3 ) had.

The common kitchen and dining area was great. The free coffee and machine were very welcome. The neighbourhood was very quiet with a handy express supermarket very close by. The host was very responsive and accommodating. The free bikes were a bonus too. 😀👏

United KingdomThe little things were just lacking - the shower-head leaked, the soap was empty, there was no tourist info, the room was a little sparse, with no pictures or photos and just lots of bare, empty shelves, and the bikes could do with a bit of a smarten up, but none of this impacted hugely in my enjoyment of my stay.
The location was quiet and close to the centre. The room was large and with a nice, big walk-in shower. The in-room Nespresso machine was great for kick-starting the day. The ability to just borrow a bike was wonderful and I saw much more of the city as a result, however, the first one I took didn’t have working lights, something I didn’t spot until it was dark!

AustraliaGreat location! We loved being able to use the bikes and make a simple meal in the kitchen. Also we really appreciated being able to make coffee and tea in the room. While we did not see staff they were very responsive and helpful. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean. We really enjoyed it. Only downside is that you can hear everything. One night some guests came back at 1am and were very loud. But with ear plugs we could get back to sleep. We’d happily stay here again!

United KingdomRoom was on the ground floor which was fine but some people might not like. There was an issue with other guests being noisy on the first night but the owner sorted that out quickly.
Nicely decorated, centrally located, easy to check in, decent size, cool that they have free bike rental.

United KingdomNothing to not like, great accommodation.
We had a wonderful stay – the accommodation was a warm and comfortable base for exploring the city. It’s just a short walk to all the main tourist spots, yet also well-situated for venturing further. The room was a good size and had everything we needed. A lovely touch was the extra tea, coffee, milk, and even chocolate provided on the stairs leading up to the room. The shower was excellent, and having access to a shared room for preparing food was a real bonus, especially with a small supermarket just across the road. Although we didn’t use them, the free bikes are a great idea. If the weather had been warmer, we might have taken advantage of them, but honestly, we found Ghent small enough to explore easily on foot. Overall, a great place to stay – we’d highly recommend it!

BulgariaThere were some construction works on site, on our last day and the workers were playing very loud music, which prevented us from having a good night sleep. But I do believe that this was only a one-time occurance.
The location was great, the atmosphere was cosy and the room was large and the beds were very comfortable. Plus, the free bikes made visiting the city even more enjoyable.

United KingdomI wasn't given access instructions until I was already travelling even though I was asking from the day before I got no response. Bit of a worry so I started looking for alternate accommodation while enroute in case info never came. Would have been ok if I had been told that instructions would come on the day but website said instructions would be provided in advance!
Room 1 perfect for a solo traveller or cozy for 2. Excellent shower, generous with good coffee and tea provision, great location, bicycles available!
