Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The B&B Place Jourdan was truly exceptional. Not too far from Brussels Centre and a stones throw away from the EU Commission with plenty of amenities and restaurants in the vicinity.

Noise isolation is a bit poor, but ok - somebody was loudly snoring in the room next to mine :) The mattress was too soft for me (I usually sleep on a futon at home, so definitely not a soft one :) ).
Spacy room and bathroom, absolutely cosy place. Very clean, well maintained. It is visible that owners really care about their B&B and guests. Self-service simple breakfast. Location was relevant to my needs. Price was ok in comparison to crazy prices of lodging in Brussels...

I didn’t mind it, but be aware of it being on the top floor of a typical Belgian property with steep staircase.
Such a pretty apartment, with all the comforts needed for a short city break!

The welcome was warm and friendly and I liked that they got in touch to confirm my arrival time and make sure somebody was around. The room was warm and cozy, and it looked like the bathroom was recently decorated to a high standard. The breakfast was delicious, with really good quality produce.

Everything was very well-maintained and clean. If we really want to find a small flaw, there was no kettle in the room: after a day of continuous rain, perhaps a hot tea would have helped.

The B&B style exactly met mine. The staff was super nice and friendly. I loved the French breakfast with a special care for the product origin and environmental impact. I recommended B&B Jourdan to my colleagues who often travel to Bruxelles for work.

It would've been nice to have a tiny fridge in the room for my fruits, water, etc.
Perfect location for accessing all EU-institutions. Very friendly host who makes extra effort to accomodate your wishes. Big bathroom, cosy bed, clean room. Nice breakfast.

I had the duplex apartment and the stairs are a bit unconfortable, but since I only got upstairs for sleeping, it was not a problem.
Everything was ok. The location is great, just 10 minutes walk to Charlemagne.

At first I thought I was coming to a hotel, but as it turned out, it was the home of a very kind young family. Still, you feel like you're in the hotel. The room is of good quality, the bed is very comfortable, higher than usual, the bathroom is patty clean. Breakfast is just enough, but very tasty. The hosts are very kind and helpful. I especially recommend the breakfast room, which was probably the family room facing the street, where the decoration, wall painting is so nice and pleasant music play during breakfast are very nice and suitable for breakfast. It's like sitting in a café eating your breakfast. I can only recommend it to everyone.

We had a lovely stay. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared without much packaging waste, which made us happy. The room and bathroom were spacious and had all amenities you'd expect.

Not really an issue but there's no lift
The Duplex Apartment is very spacious, beds are comfortable and the bathroom must have been recently renovated. We've had excellent communication with Julien, the host, who has turned out to be very helpful with everything we needed. And since the property is a bit far away from the Old Town, the area did not feel very touristy. Still, you'll find a few restaurants and coffee places in the nearby Place Jourdan.
