Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsExternal lock doesn’t work really good, sometimes struggled to open/close the door. We we’re living in Villa #1, not sure about others. but stairs from 2nd to 3rd level doesn’t look safe at all, imho need to be strengthened. Probably wouldn’t suit much for older people because of the wobbly stairs

United KingdomThe bathroom is pretty small but eveything works OK.
A beautiful apartment within easy walking distance to the old town. There are two double beds in seperate rooms but I only used the bed on the first floor. From the front door you enter the kitchen, there is a stove which looks OK but I only used the kettle. There is a nice wooden table in the kitchen which is where I spent most of my time in the apartment when I wasn't sleep. There is a coutyard outside that is shared with the other apartments - I was lucky as the my neighbours for the weekend were friendly so sharing this was not a problem.

The homeowner never replied to us and my friends and we had to share a bed with the three of us, we chose the bed which was least dirty. There were dog hairs, human hairs in the bed, dust everywhere and the bathroom is disgusting. A cleaner came to clean the house but she just made the beds. There is a difference between cleaning and tidying. DO NOT GO HERE. We paid a lot of money and booking.com was not helpful at all. They did absolutely nothing. So not only did the homeowner not help us, booking did nothing either.

BEWARE 1) This property is not the property in the photos, it is not very clean (2 photos of the bathroom as we found it are shown below) and approximately 1/8th of the size of the one advertised in the photos. 2) On arrival (early evening with no other booking) they owner/agent asked for 270 eur for the property we booked online ( around 3 times what we paid) to allow us to actually stay in the apartment we booked. 3) We then had no choice than to leave with our young family as our budget would not stretch to that for one night. 4) The wiring in the bathroom is unsafe as are the stairs which bent and wobbled with the weight of a normal adult :( 5) We were offered a cancellation/refund because of all this but it was a trick. The owners kept the money and booking.com are happily keeping their commission and not getting involved, despite us cancelling when we saw the apartment and realised the 270eur scam. 6) PS: Within 10 mins or writing this an additional review titled "Look at the photos carefully; they're 100% accurate, that's what you're getting." was posted but back-dated to July. Seems rather suspect. Our genuine advice would be to avoid as the booking.com photos are not of the apartment we paid for or were offered. The real photos of the apartment are on this review....and worst of all, booking.com do not help you when you do come across an unscrupulous owner.

United Kingdom10 minute walk from the car park when we arrived. I believe that's true of most accommodation in the Old Town, which is basically a pedestrian zone.
A townhouse in a fantastic location on the edge of Antwerp Old Town. Lots of period features. It's a lovely, quirky, old, house. Feels very genuine and makes for a much more memorable Antwerp experience. It is not a luxury hotel, if you want that then stay at the Hilton. The location is on the periphary of the Old Town so it's easy to walk there but the house itself is nice and quiet. Easy access to cafes, bars, and restaurants.
