Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The hotel needs renovation. The walls at the room was damaged with holes and the corridor too. Does looks good

Car parking underneath hotel was a horror no room to manoeuvre.

Spacious clean room. Slightly dated with some wear and tear (wallpaper, carpet). Well equipped bathroom. Shower without door requires some care to avoid splashing water all around (but is much better than a curtain). The semi-transparant doors for the toilet and bathroom could be surprising for some but totally ok for us. Very well located right in the center of Oostende.

Beds were a little too soft but ok for a short stay.
Breakfast was wonderful a really good choice of healthy food and comfort food. Staff were amazing who served the breakfast. Patient professional kind and helpful.

The swimming pool was a bit cold, so the spa experience was disappointing.
The breakfast buffet was complete, with plenty of sweet and savory options. The room was spacious and had a big terrace.

Everything looks a bit old, the toilet room was really small, and they should’ve fix something for their doors. If you travel with friends you don’t have a lot of privacy.
The location is great, the bed was okay. Breakfast is what you can imagine. Everything you need to start the day is there.

The door of the toilet was glass, therefore it is not odor and sound proof, it is uncomfortable if you travel with someone.

The window was not properly sealed against the cold weather. But we asked for an extra blanket which was given.

Wish breakfast would be served until 11 all days of the week and not only on the weekends. Some TV channels are shaky or not working at all. More contacts needed for charging of phone, iPad etc. There is only one for everything!
Nice, no frills hotel, quiet and relaxing and the swimming pool area is the best thing with his hotel. Cleaning has much improved since my last stay.

Pillows are lumpy. If they could get some decent pillows then that would be great! Lighting in the room is slightly strange - no central light in our room - only side lights which made it quite difficult to see things and to read! It wasn't a problem for us, but if you need a bit of privacy changing for the pool then I would change before you get there as the changing room is small. It is Ostend, so prices are relative, but you do pay more for hotel rooms here.
Great location - 5 minute walk to the main beach and 10-15 minute walk from the train station Friendly and helpful staff. Child friendly - big enough rooms to have main bed plus sofa bed. Great breakfast - good choice hot and cold. Plenty of tables of varying size. Pool ideal for swimming, as long as it's not too busy. Extra towels available from the reception.
