Be aware of opening the windows! As screens are not customary in many places in Europe, the windows will allow more than just a breeze. Mosquitos suffers beware!

Sure the decor is a bit dated, but it was a fine place to stay for the night. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and relaxed. 10-15 min walk to the heart of “old town” Antwerp and you’ve got everything you need.

Looks like it stucked in 80’s like many other Antwerp’s hotels. Instead of one big bad we had two together which moved from each other every time. No conditioner, but, probably it exist but doesn’t work for years coz of its age. Don’t know why they give 4 stars to hotels like this, it’s not even close to 3*. But if you travel for Tomorrowland, it will be ok for you))

Our room when we when returned in the evening did not have any electricity and had to wait 30mins before we were asked to be moved into a different room. Although the staff were trying to the fix the problem it was not a huge concern for them. The choice in breakfast is limited and not worth the money that we paid for it

Our room wasn't fully accessible from the lift as there was also a short set of stairs. Not really a problem for us but could be for those less able bodied. However it is a charming old building and things like this can be expected.

We were given a room upgrade, 2 comfortable chairs in the room, excellent bed, good wifi and tea/coffee facility. Location close to historic centre but very quiet at night so got a good nights sleep too. Secure parking on site, yes it was very tight accessing the area but we managed with care and the receptionist kindly advised on the best way to exit the space given the size of our car! Breakfast was good too.

The whole hotel was breathing oldness and musty atmosphere. Really bad was the lack of the shower screen. It can't be else that more people are complaining about this. Poor, because after taking a shower, the whole bathroomfloor was one water lake...which must be resulting in extra cleaning costs per room for the hotel. So, pls at least assemble a shower screen....

There was not enough hot water to have a bath, or to have two showers so one of us showered cold. The lights only worked some of the time (very strange) so I had a cold bath in the dark. Only 1 teabag provided between 2 guests. The double bed was two singles pushed together, at different heights. On the day of checkout we were only allowed us to store our bags in the cloakroom until 2pm which was inconvenient. I know that storing bags after checkout is at the hotels discretion, they are not required to do so. We saw very few other guests, if you can store until 2 why not another hour? It felt like we were being pushed out. It was a good price but came with a budget experience.

The breakfast was pretty decent and the room was bigger than expected from the photos. The location is excellent, close to Centraal station and the Grote Markt. Good budget price for such a central location.

They could perhaps redo the place at some point. We felt the last time the hotel was renovated should have been some time before we were born (some time when shades of brown and yellow were considered fashionable).

Room much smaller than expected, mold in joints in the bath, unflexible if you are 15mins early for check-in. Worst thing when we came at 10:20 for breakfast, when instead of a proper good morning we heard 'breakfast is until 10:30 only', and the young lady seemed offended that we still liked at least a coffee. The room smelled bad when we got there, like it hadn't been properly clean. The bed was not ver comfortable, the bathroom was outdated and smelly. It didn't seem like a clean place. The woman taking care of our check out procedures was very rude, and did not know anything about payment with foreign currencies, and ended up making us paying more than we should have. Location, is wonderful - peaceful, clean, safe and visually appealing. Beautiful entry with green ivy and outdoor seating. Staff, ALL were very helpful and efficient ( we needed boarding passes printed, bottles opened, bags deposit.. never a problem ) . Breakfasts were standard - very clean, comfortable surroundings and friendly service. Rooms, comfortable and practical - with a mid-century furnished feeling. Furnishings and comfort may appear 'less' luxurious than other 4-star accommodation ( showing some wear and age ) but not a problem. IF you need a midday nap you might find yourself surrounded by the noisy shouts of elementary school children during recess.. We found it fun.. so a matter of taste. We HIGHLY recommend Hotel Prinse and will definitely return next time we are in Antwerp.

In contrast to the grandeur the inner courtyard suggests, the hotel itself is still in late-1980s outfit, giving it the feel of an obsolete office building. The shower (in the bath tub) was very inconvenient: too low, little room and not warm enough. The synthetic pillows and duvet are not very comfortable. I found some hairs on the bathroom floor. This hotel needs an internal refreshment.

For me the hotel's location, next to the University of Antwerp and at walkable distance from the station and main attractions, was very practical. The entrance through the portal and inner courtyard is promising. Personnel is very friendly, the room spacious, and breakfast good.

Breakfast was poor. Hot water for tea was not hot. There is no lift so if you have a heavy luggage you may face difficulties going up to the third floor via narrow steps. Woke up in the morning with the smell of toilet (3rd floor), which is most probably not related with the hotel but with the nearby canal. But all of these may be ok for one of the cheapest options in the region.

Disappointingly parochial TV - no international channels; wi-fi free but patchy; caution required with garage parking - narrow access between pillars, and the scuffs tell the story!

Spacious room; comfortable (queen) bed; good bathroom facilities; decent continental breakfast included; great for walking access to historic centre of Antwerp

It is definitely not 4 star hotel, maximum 3! May be it was 4* about 50-60 years ago, but not now. Room and bathroom are VERY old and not comfy. The location a little bit far away from main attractions. NO value for money at all

The staff was great. Clean room.
