Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandNot a problem for me but maybe for someone it can be important... There was no fridge in the room.
I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Although I stayed only for one night. What I liked: the room was very clean, it had big, comfortable bed and clean, new bathroom. As it was facing the inner garden it was very quiet. The hotel is beautifully decorated and pleasant to stay at. I liked the breakfast! Very tasty and big enough. The stuff was also very friendly. I read some comments saying the location is bad. So here is my opinion..... It is located very close to Brussels Midi Rail Station. I arrived at 10 pm and walked to the hotel in 15 min. It is true that there is lots of rubbish on the streets. But it is not specific to the street where the hotel is located. The hotel district around Brussels Midi is a bit disorganized and has the same rubbish problem. It immediately reminded me of Paris. Just a typical Parisian street with beautiful historical buildings and lots of rubbish around. I actually enjoyed the walk. The hotel is located on a main. busy street, full of shops, cafes and public transport. So you can always chose walking there. I enjoyed my stay and would book it again.

United KingdomThe receptionist spoke very fast and complex French sentences so we had to resort to her excellent English. The area was a bit run down.
Easy check in. Small bar had a good selection of beer which was appreciated given the pooring rain outside. Room was spotlessly clean with everything we needed.

Czech RepublicIt would be nice to have an actual glass instead of a paper cup wrapped in plastic in the bathroom. And some decorations would make the room look more cozy.
Very friendly staff, clean rooms and location is close to the city centre

United KingdomThe staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. The facilities were clean and tidy and the room was perfect for a family with children. The location isn't in a tourist area but everything was accessible by public transport or walking, both of which we did. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again

NetherlandsClean & spacious room. The bathroom and shower are separated, which is great when you share a room with three people. This is a great and affordable hotel near the Birmingham Palace. Also, when we came back from the event, our keycards didn’t work to open the front door. Luckily, the staff was there to open the door for us.

IrelandLovely hotel, clean & modern. Staff were pleasant and the location was good. Rooms catered for our needs. No coffee making facilities in the rooms but the bar downstairs does lovely coffees for reasonable price. The bar in the hotel is not always open and does not serve food beyond continental breakfast. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not designed for tourist families. The restaurants & shops cater for locals and they do great kebabs & falafel, just not suitable for families with children who want a sit down meal. The 51 & 82 tram run from a stop about 8 minute walk away which brings you to the centre of Brussels. Taxi ride for 4 people to Grand Place is between €9-€12.

GeorgiaOnce more I have to emphasis that Van Belle is very nice, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Probably the carpet floors in the rooms are somehow not very hygienic (though vacuum cleaning is conducted every day). This is the only my 'contra' note - all others are 'pro'.
The room was comfortable and I had got good view on trees from quiet side of the building, not to the noisy street. Breakfast was very good -everything what is necessary for morning meal. Very tasty coffee. From the first sight the location seemed to be not very good, but after I've learnt that metro station is not very far from the Hotel.

HungaryThe bed was a bit soft, not the most comfortable for me. The soundproofing is weak, and the toiletries provided in the bathroom are quite minimal. Staff Minus: they don't assist with special requests always well. We booked a room with breakfast included but for early checkout they couldn't provide a cold breakfast package as requested.
The hotel is clean, including the room and bathroom. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful, with extra freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff is friendly. Staff Plus: We received our room very early without any extra charge, thank you!

SpainPlacement and people on the surroundings. You better arrive by taxi there. Police should just control where people meet up expecting something. It's not hotel's fault to be fair but it's a condition.
Hotel looked clean and our room was quite big for being 3. Distribution was a bit weird, but not in a bad way.

United KingdomI can't say that there was anything we didn't like. The location is a bit out of the centre, but walkable and good transport options nearby.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and more than adequate for our needs. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. We found the hotel to be very clean throughout. Good to see them maintaining the hotel too.

PolandThe room was too warm for us and there wasn't anything to do about it. Also, the water pressure in the shower is good but could be better and warmer.
Overall good. Good value for money. The staff was happy to check us in early which was nice for us. The location is pretty good, a nice walk to the center and Midi station. Places open around the hotel for food or groceries for a very late time.
