Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryVery good location: next to the raiway station and 10 min walk to the very center. It is an old style hotel, so if you like the feeling of early XX. century then it is your hotel. Nothing extra, nothing fancy, just you have all what you need for a short term stay.

IrelandThe lack of an elevator is not ideal, if you can handle this, then it's fine. Area is very central, is very busy, and can get noisy outside.
Apartment was fine....comfortable...big enough...clean... Stairs was an issue and won't be suitable for everyone, my apartment, with 70 steps, but having managed that, then fine. Breakfast was fine with the staff very accommodating, helpful, and eating in the hotel was good. Bedroom...kitchen..bathroom...sitting room....toilet...all good. Very close to the train station also if that's what is needed....trains to everywhere and the hotel is within a short distance of shopping areas. All in all a good experience. More than one star but the age of the hotel and the lack of an elevator.

United KingdomThere's no lift and there are 76 steps up to the third floor but on the plus side they are wide and there's a good handrail. You may have to run the hot water tap for a while before it runs hot. Some of the (self service) breakfast supplies, e.g. ham, could run out if you are not early. The mini chocolate croissants were disappointing but the fresh bread was good. The bathroom had inadequate shelf space and there was no bin.
Complimentary bottles of water on arrival. 'Free' breakfast included some fresh fruit, granola and yogurt options. Coffee machine with ground coffee was good. Late finish for breakfast hours appreciated. TV included BBC & France TV channels so could watch live Six Nations rugby in room. Effective central heating radiator. Convenient location near railway and bus stations. Wardrobe for storage. Room tidied etc daily.

SwitzerlandThe family room was weird, as the bathroom is almost the size of a room itself but still the toilet is at a corner really close to the heater. I am small but even I had to use the toilet in the diagonal. The finishings of the room, especially the bathroom look a bit cheap, with holes between some electric sockets and the wall and a huge hole behind the toilet that allows you to look at the pipes. The shower head was leaky and the water sometimes would take some good 10 min to warm up. The rooms would benefit from some careful checking. The cleaning was overall good, but is done superficially as I saw some spider webs as well as some garbage from the previous guests behind the couch when closing the windows. The food at the restaurant is a bit too expensive for what it is, but given the location I would say it would be expected.
The location is great, close to the train station and the main shopping street of Leuven. The room was comfortable, the internet worked well and the breakfast was ok for the day. It was nice that there were some variations from day to day. The rooms was a bit cold but the bedding was enough to keep you warm and comfy. The room did the job for the short stay.

BelarusYou feel that floor under the carpet is old, it’s uneven, but I don’t feel uncomfortable with this.
Very good hotel in old building with high ceilings. Soft mattress. I like the design of the room, it is better than usually. Super nice breakfast, many fruits. It could be more stars:)

NetherlandsBad sound insulation, so you hear neighbors. With people coming in and out at night it made it difficult to sleep at night. Tip: take earplugs with you.

ItalyNoise in the square at 5AM. They clean up the street in the early morning and the noise can be heard in the rooms facing the main square. The windows are soundproof, but unfortunately the noise is high and, in any case, a guest could be willing to sleep with the windows open... which, in this hotel, does not seem possible unless you ask for a room facing on the other side.
The rooms are really nice, clean and well equipped. The lighting within both the hall and the rooms create a warm atmosphere. The staff is welcoming and very kind. The hotel is right above a beautiful lounge, where breakfast and lunch are served during the day, and drinks at night. The building is beautiful and the premises offer nice restaurants and bars. The hotel is located conveniently in front of the train and bus stations. Perfect stay!
