Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe cottage was fine as we were out all day at grandprix. Car needed as very hilly. It is very basic but all the essentials are there. No oven or dishwasher but they were not advertised. It is in a remote area so car/bikes needed.
Comfortable bed & nice bathroom. Private parking and bike storage. Lovely supermarket within 5 min cycle. Hosts were very accommodating allowing us to park there early.

BelgiumA door to the bathroom might be nice :-) but it's fine for a couple. Also the sensor to the light on the stairs could be better directed (don't know if it is possible). If you are coming up in the dark, the light comes on only when you are at the top. There is a bbq but unfortunately some previous guest has left it in a disgusting state so you won't want to use it. Not the fault of the hosts, just some inconsiderate guest.
Charming small house in a tiny village. The house has everything that you need and was perfect for the weekend that we were there. It is quite remote and you do need a car to get to the local shops. Proxy Delhaize in Ferrieres is well stocked, great baker a short drive away (l'atelier du theatre du pain) and a nice little restaurant (le Santé Bonheur). There are hiking and cycling paths nearby or it is a good base to visit towns in the surrounding area.

NetherlandsNot really something I disliked per se but something that could be helpful in future is a washing machine.
Lovely little house in a hamlet. The house was clean and well kitted out. The bike wash station out the front was also great to clean muddy boots and muddy dog paws after a hike. Host was very friendly and helpful. A very short drive to a good supermarket that even opens on sundays and sells local produce. Lots of nice hikes less than 20mins drive away.

NetherlandsDuring out visit there was quite some heavy farming machinery being driven around, even very late at night. In general outside sounds can keep you up at night (neigbours talking, some barking dogs, etc) Nothing to be done about that, but beware if you are a light sleeper. The bed is small. Other than that some small things, like missing pillows for the terrace. Nothing that ruined our vacation though!
Although the location feels remote the nearby villages are not far away. Parking is available in fromt of the house. The house itself has an interesting lay-out but is quite charming, where the bedroom is by far the biggest room in the house. It's quite well stocked, including quite a lot of pans and pots, kitchen utensils, some spices, (tea)towels, and barbeque equipment. Plenty of space outside for our dog to explore, lovely that he could join us! There is a lot to do, but you do need a car to get around.

NetherlandsPrice/quality for our stay was amazing, we would love to come back!
It was larger than we expected and had all utilities that we wished for. Easy parking right in front of the door, terrace when the sun is out, fast wifi with a TV & chromecast to stream, induction plate cooking.

United Kingdom- washing machine stated in the description was not there - double sofa bed in the living room downstairs was too short even for a 12 years old kid (and with "mattress" a bit stained) - full of flies, we could not eat in the dining table outside and we had to keep door closed (windows has mosquito nets luckily)
- master bedroom upstairs was very nice and big so was the bathroom - mosquito nets
