The rooms had a weird damp smell. The property was a bit old but in a good way but slightly unclean. The area is around 12km away from the bruges but the street is not very slow which is a good thing.

It was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The location is good and very near from the beach and there is a cathedral nearby where a lot of good activities was happening as we were there on new year weekend.

The lack of close by parking. We arrived on a Friday which is market day and stalls are set up in the car park which is probably the closest to hotel so we couldn't use it. The owner guided us to the rail station multi storey but be aware this is very expensive especially if you leave overnight and there are no signs or information in English to advise. The hotel owner we were told afterwards by another traveller has a small rooftop car park which you can arrange with him but this was not advertised and we werent contacted by the hotel in advance to ask if we'd like it. And so to the bed......worst sleep we've ever had, the bed was so soft and if you rolled to the edge it sort of gave way with the feeling you'd fall on to the floor. The owner said he'd only been there a couple of years so we suspect he'd inherited them....perhaps he'll consider replacing for better quality as time goes on.

Very welcoming and helpful owner, superb all you can eat breakfast with a vast choice, perfect location for shops, eateries, seafront and commuting to Bruges and Ostend.

Temperature control on room radiator wasn't working, so was too hot and had to sleep with with open window. A nespresso machine with capsules would have been a nice addition to the breakfast. The doors are very old and don't seal well and I think noise from and to other guests could be a problem when the hotel gets more busy.

Very good breakfast. Friendly hosts. Great location, there is a parking that was free during weekdays nearby (in Ocrober), was few minutes walk to the beach, lots of restaurants and an off license nearby. Nice decoration in the lobby and breakfast room.

Large excellent selection for breakfast. Room warm & comfortable. English programmes on television. Location ideal. Close to railway station making Bruges & Ghent cheaply & easily accessible.

The owner is a very nice person. The breakfast pastry is very tasty. It is centrally located so beach is 3 minutes away and the train station 7 min. walk. Good, stable WiFi.

Being a town centre hotel obviously parking is a concern. Apparently you have to pay at weekends and bank holidays for street parking, other times are free. Being British we are paranoid about parking anywhere in towns, which may incur excessive fines. The exchange rate for pound to euro is not great, so things seem a bit expensive.

The owner is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is quirky and interesting, unlike chains. The breakfast was very nice and extensive, the property has an enclosed garden with plenty of seats for chilling out.

Poor wifi Parking expensive Unfortunately woken by banging and creaking during night. Possibly due to high winds, owner unable to explain cause and said not reported previously.

The quaintness of this old hotel. Excellent breakfast Central position in nice square.

    nothing to complain

One of my favorable places on Belgian coast.Very good location - close to everything but quiet, nice and helpful owner, excellent breakfast. This is probably not the place for those who prefer the big hotels with their marble bathrooms and modern furniture, but if you like houses with the soul this is a good choice

A bit hard to get by with your car, but market place in a few minute walking distance to park your car during the night for free. Hotel is up for renovation, but the owner is passionately working on that. For this price/quality, the balance is fair.

Owner is personally involved and has taken over this hotel in the beginning of 2016. This couple do their uttermost best to build up this hotel experience again. Great location just a few minutes walk of the sea side, lovely old building, large garden in the middle of city center, royal breakfast.

thought all hotels in belgium had bbc tv.but not a big issue.as weather was scorching hot.but could have been if it was raining but we are in Belgium lol

just got back to uk saturday.the hotel is in a very quiet square, just off the main kerkstraat.sea front is less than 5 minute walk.tram stop not much further.breakfast was ample, with usual continental breads etc, boil your own egg(great).the meal on offer at 20 euros was well worth it for a starter , main and pudding.cooked on the premises.by the owner who is a very nice guy.we was able to leave our luggage at the hotel to walk aroung the town till 2pm. blankekberge is a very nice place to stay with very good tram and rail links.railway station is just across the road from the tram station.it was a bank holiday whilst we was there(catholic day) four day holiday wow, extremely busy place loads going on&lots things for families&couples to do. i.ve just re-. thank you manitoba

No tea or coffee facilities which in this day and age is a must. Staff unable to use credit/debit card terminal ending up having to pay cash.

Wee balcony, spacious room, good shower and not bad location.

The bedroom was okay, although the toilet flush was quite weak and water was luke warm even when on cold..

On a square in the centre of Blankenberge, two minutes walk from the sea. Has the style of a old Flemish house, particularly the downstairs rooms.
