Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Some things inside the room are a bit worn out.
Close to the centre, in a very scenic area. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it!

A little bit faded , carpet was quite threadbare in corridors No air con , but hotel provides fans .

39 steps to the room, but fortunately, despite a combined age of well over 200, the 3 of us managed fine.
Central location. Great room for 3. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner.

The room had no aircon and ventilation doesn't seem to happen even with a wide open window. The fan was essential at night while the temperature was high. The view of the canal was a joke, you had to lean out of the window to get a glimpse of it. The electrical plug in the bathroom was coming out of its wall fitting and there appeared to be no ventilation in the bathroom, it remained hot and sticky for a very long time after taking a shower. The breakfast was good, but staff wasn't wiping tables after they had been used before next guests needed them and could not clear away dirty dishes fast enough to enable smooth changeover. More staff needed. Parking was not available and staff was not helpful on that issue, not giving any more information than absolutely necessary. The website should give more info on the parking situation in Bruges.
The location is excellent, close to the centre of Bruges. There was a lift to the third floor which made it easy to take up the luggage. The room was large and reasonably light.

Left the window open got bitten alive by some sort of flies have lumps all over us ,itchy .so leave your window closed is the moral of the story otherwise had a great stay Bruges is a beautiful city

I cant think of anything.
The location was great 7 min walking to the great market square. The staff were very helpful. It was very clean and breakfast was great.

I was travelling with my 21 year old son. The twin beds advertised on booking.com didn’t exist and I only told after paying for the booking. Even after reporting I could see this hadn’t been remedied on the site a few days later.
Great location for exploring Bruge, with comfy beds and fresh continental breakfast.

Budget double not value for money - attic room - I bumped my head as layout was tight around the bed, no side tables, sparse furniture, toilet roll holder was broken, so no where to put loo roll, leaky shower door. Listing suggested there was parking available, but was told after booking it was not available. Parked at station - it was a long walk!
Location was great- close to main attractions ; good continental breakfast and staff were friendly and attentive.

Just one negative- the bedside wall lights was just bulbs sticking far out and not on side of bed but right in the middle so if you sat up, you would hit your head on them.
Very close to everything. Super friendly staff. Simple but nice breakfast

We unfortunately experienced a lot of mosquitoes at night, needing to close the window, making the room hot. Fan was supplied. This isn’t really the hotels fault but may screens for the windows would be helpful.
Location is everything about this hotel, just superb. The hotel offers a very enjoyable breakfast each morning. We stayed 2 nights so our room wasn’t serviced. We found it suited our needs for a family of 4. We parked at the train station and walked, a great suggestion by the hotel. 20 mins and easy. €14 for 48 hours was well worth it.
