    The pillows on the bed were very lumpy. The extractor fans in the bathroom were not working. There were no facilities for making tea and coffee in the room. There was no mirror in the room to be able to sit and do your hair and makeup near a window for good lighting, and as we were there for a wedding this was an issue.

    The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly and helpful.

    We stayed 2 nights and nobody cleaned the bathroom, changed the towels or made the bed when we came back in the evening. For a 3 stars hotel, it is very disappointing.

    Smell obviously had a flood at some stage on the ground floor, also the lighting is automatic but not very quick and often wound up walking up a dark corridor, room was adequate but bed was uncomfortable and pillows were well not really pillows, little square bits of very, very soft foam like materiel, also had a draft in the room all night which made it pretty cold!

    Location, friendliness of staff

    We did not have a bad experience but we did not use the pool/sauna which was priced into the hotel rate. Obviously this is our fault but this was not our first choice of hotel and, given different circumstances, we would have booked an hotel with more appropriate facilities at a cheaper rate.

    As usual with most hotels the staff were efficient and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. but I think that independent hotels like this could learn a lot from the major chains in terms of value for money;
