    Leaving!

Sitting beside the ponds. Lots of activity, the ducks, goose and herons. Lots of small birds swooping to catch the flies. Trout so close you could almost touch them. Quiet and restful. Nice staff. Quaint and rustic. Great cake. A 'didn't want to leave' place. Will return.

We were very dissapointed with the room. We were with our daughter and made a reservation through booking.com for three persons, inl. a child. We got a room with two single beds and a converted sofa. The room was looking very differently from the one presented on the photos. The owner was apologising but there was no other room free.

Lovely breakfast and very nice owners. Super quiet. We weren't up for a big dinner but when we went into town for a light dinner of possibly salad, etc., we discovered that most of the restaurants close on Wed night. Meanwhile, the hotel's restaurant seemed packed even tho a few were open in town. So the restaurant must be well-considered.

The location is beautiful, next to 2 lakes! A walking path is around the lakes for a nice view of the hotel which is furnished and presented completely in old style – something different ;-) The room was comfortable with a queen size bed and a nice bathroom with Bath, it was a bit dark in the Room but good for sleeping. Restaurant had good quality food and prices were acceptable. It was quite cold in the morning, so the owners allowed me and my small teckel to enjoy breakfast inside, which was nice!

The room was a little stuffy and had a stale smell, but opening the window solved that.

Beautiful location in a quiet area but still close to restaurants, the staff was very nice, grounds are spectacular. Breakfast was delicious.

A charming family run hotel speaking mainly German, then French and English. The staff go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. This is not a modern trendy hotel so it won't suit many, but if you value relaxed surroundings and the best food you will eat all holiday (the chef is top notch Michelin-type standard, and frankly a good reason alone to choose this hotel!). Decor is old and our bathroom was dated, but the polite staff and stunning food more than make up for it. Avoid room 3 as it has a squeaky bed that you can probably hear from the car park. We plan to go back, and perhaps that is the best compliment you can make. Highly recommend for a relaxed time and/or a base close to Spa. Safe ample parking.

Family owned hotel and therefor everything has a personal touch: The very friendly and efficient staff and the decoration. People may find it outdated but we like these type of hotels. We absolutly loved to stay here. Dinner was very good, for main dish we had trout that was excellently prepared.

Hotel was exactly as we expected! Rooms were comfortable and hotel atmosphere warm and relaxing. Quiet and tranquil yet close to the town center. Loved watching the ducks while enjoying a wonderful lunch on the patio. A special thanks to Maryanne and Freddy for making our stay so enjoyable...our early arrival was not a problem for Maryann as she made us feel at home and welcomed .. Freddy took his own personal time to share his knowledge of the St Vith area and the Ardennes Forrest which was a special delight as that was the main reason for our visit, a visit we will always remember...thank you all so much!

Bedrooms far too small - a double 4 poster bed with 2 single mattresses.. size for a dwarf and you can only get in from one side of the bed ... not great when having to wake your partner in the night if you need the bathroom. In room facilities .. none - no tea or coffee making facilities - tv local german only ( 1980's tv looked like was going to fall off the wall). Hairdryer at least 30 years old and of no actual use unless you are bald. No safe Bathroom - Shower gel and Shampoo in packets !! That went out 30 years ago. Towels were tiny and felt like sandpaper as they had been washed so many times. Decor and atmosphere was Allo Allo meets the macabre ... very weird pictures and dark feeling. Restaurant menu very limited ... great if you like trout though as its on there for about 1/2 the main courses and no veggie option. Breakfast typical german - cheese , bread, ham , bread, cake , bread rolls and more bread ... great if you like bread awful if you don't or gluten intolerant. Alarm call from a goose every morning around 6.30am . Rooms need a complete refurb and the doubles should be marketed as singles with a double bed squeezed in !

Staff were friendly even with the language barrier - surroundings are nice and restaurant terrace is relaxing Parking good

Wish we were asked how we wanted the meat cooked for dinner, we assumed it was well done when not asked. It was not. We had a room that included breakfast, in the morning before eating we asked for a cup of coffee each which we got charged for in addition to the rest.

The grounds was a haven, relaxing and peaceful. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff!
